Not upset per say.....just confused i grew up hearing that "All i want is a man to be a gentleman respectful treat me right etc...."


But when you try to do that send flowers try to be nice now your thirsty



Its like why try in some men eyes now I don't do it for anyone unless they family and they seem like they are the last dying breed maybe its just the ones i met but the younger ones are on something else I'm not sure what going on with them

I agree with you on you cant really do nice things for women these days without looking "thirsty."

These millennials believe that if a man does something nice for you he wants something ( sex)... Not all men are dirt bags looking for sex. Some men are out here looking for real companionship and not just a FWB.

Im 38 years of age (I know 19 years in the Army still in great shape hair line on but anyway)


I was brought up showing that to woman of all ages.....


being around soldiers that are super young (I have one that came in at 17 just turned 18) they don't seem to respect it


They seem to not understand why a man would open the door for them its not just soldiers its all woman its a lot of woman in this age group 16-27


but the 30-55 they at it.




did something happen I'm not not seeing to these young ones

I do it all the time and never get taken advantage....just gotta know when to stop for some chicks who are naive and think you're doing it because you're infatuated with them.


Chivalry goes along way brehs, especially when meeting a quality mate.

Chivalry really isnt dead just certain aspects of it. I can say that the "I'm independent" wave has help strangle chivalry a little bit more.


Men feel like if some women are upset about me doing nice small gestures such as holding the door I just won't do it for any women.

I'm a southerner most men hold the door for women... so I'm use to it and dont have a problem with a man being a gentlemen.


I have a question for you guys... Are you guys offended when women won't let you be chivalrous?

If we're trying to get to know each other on a one-on-one basis, absolutely. Other than that, let them struggle it out.

Nope not all men are dirt bags its like how do you even find a woman that understands these days for the younger men out here (and some of them are fukked up too tho)


My lil cuz got some flowers from a guy she 21 and what she do.......she put him on blast and IG'd the flowers tagged him and others in the post and called him thirsty

Its funny i did this i pulled up in my truck for a movie date (I know dates are not done no more but i can't think of nothing else to call it)

Walked to her house waited until she was ready and walked her to my truck opened the door helped her in she was in damn awe and damn near said i was the one just because i did little things like that pulled her chair out for her etc...(She just turned 27) Im like damn its like they never get it but don't understand it at the same time. She kept asking me why i was being so nice i said its a date right?

A lot of women like and are used to being treated like shyt breh, so when someone treats them nicely that shyt scares them off. They think you are disingenuous, have an ulterior motive etc. Or they see it as weakness and try to take advantage of you.

Yeah I feel you i had this situation when i a was a little younger about 25 i think there was this female i was dealing with and we would talk and pretty much disappear then pop up again.....



Until I noticed she came around three days or two after i get paid 1st and 15th wanting to go out of need favors....



I called her out on it and she said your a nice guy so i figured you like to help me thats when I turned

Fair point. It has evolved. Guys still open doors, pull out chairs, etc.

But as far as going all out on the first date, flowers, poems, candy, that is dead.

It assumes that she is going to choose her mate based on his actions, when today's women typically choose based on his perceived value.
