Is Chris Paul just not as good as we think?

He needs an alpha dog with him who isn't afraid to jack up shots when the pressure is on. Paul is a beast but at 6 foot tall he's limited in being able to take over everytime when needed in the clutch. If he had someone else like a George or Carmelo to play off we wouldn't even be having this discussion. This man is one of the greatest point guards ever and it's not his fault that the Clips play in the loaded West and that every year one of him or Blake end up getting hurt it seems.

It's using a regression equation with an R^2 value of ~.86. The Clippers had an ORtg of 116.9 and a DRtg of 102.1 with CP3 on the court :whew:

That just means lineups featuring CP3 were stellar. It doesn't mean the Clips should've been a 77 win team, mainly because CP3 doesn't play 48 minutes a game.

Basically.

Paul's just always had bad luck too sharing his prime with the Spurs and then the Warriors. He's an all time top 5 PG in my book.

I think that's about 75% true. But he had his window in 2014 and especially 2015 and didn't make the necessary plays when his team needed him the most. Actually he did the opposite in some of those cases

Because of that his legacy has taken a hit and he's not seen in the light he deserves to be in....and deservedly so.

Luckily for him his career isn't over and one playoff run can turn it all around. He use Dirk as his template...Dirk had a similar post season run of infamy but managed to completely 360 it with his 2011 run

Nobody said they should've been a 77 win team... It shows how much better of a team they were when he was on the court.

But a big problem of the Clips has always been their bench, which aside from Crawford has always been shyt. I mean, Austin Rivers has been getting major rotation minutes on that team for the past 3 years or so. That's criminal.

In the NBA one player can control the game much moreso then any other sport.

If U never even got to a conference finals once in your career I can't count you as an all time great sorry
