Maybe, can't call it.

Should be Nas, imo. Nas was "woke" and trying to civilize savages when everybody thought that shyt was corny and didn't want to hear that and wanted to be hustlers and gangstas and cool strictly.

Nas knew people wanted the IWW, more street Nas and still constantly mixed the "Preachy" joints into his work regardless...made you eat your vegetables. Now being "woke" is fashionable...you got Jay-z and all these dudes being fake woke and shyt, lol...Nas was doing it back when Jay-z was clowning him for "kickin knowledge". :sas1:. If you can't respect that your whole perspective is wack.

Maybe. But I’ve heard people (knuckleheads) say PE was played out. When NWA blew up people kinda moved away from the positivity PE was kickin

I would say Scarface gets respect on all coasts too

Chuck D early impact demonstrated that black folks both old and new had to understand his paradigm of kicking knowledge without sounding corny.

Chuck is a good answer. I would have said Dre is up there too if he was purely a rap artist but he ain't.
