Umm.... Season 7 is a top 3 season of the show. But yes Season 6 and 8 are some of the worst tv ever. Season 7 gets a bad rap cause it's in the middle of 2 of the worst seasons of the show.
Dexter is weird as fukk. Really. I said it once and i'll say it again. Dexter first 2 seasons>Breaking Bad first 2 seasons. And Dexter season 4 is it's best season.
However the show lost it's showrunner i think after season 4 and it went downhill after that. It did have a nice recovery in season 7 only to be followed up by honestly one of the worst seasons of tv ever. Everyone talks about how bad the series finale is and yes it's VERY bad. But the whole entire season 8 was garbage.
But yes seasons 1/2/4/7 is some of the best tv u will watch. If i had to rank seasons

It's been known why....Clyde Phillips, the show runner for season 1-4, bounced. After that they got two guys that used to write "24" to run the show. Which is why Dexter damn near turned into a action hero.
After that they kept trading out show runners which, even under the best conditions, isn't ideal.

I wouldn't even waste my time. It's one of those shows I can't even go back and watch due to all the wasted potential. Especially after season 4 where they had so many ways to go with the show and just shyt the bed with it.
Yoooooo funny you said that because I always thought they ruined it by turning Dexter into Jack Bauer and now I see why smh
But yeah first 4 seasons are dope. The rest is trash. Julia Styles’s character in season 5 was SO fukkING STUPID and that whole season was god awful. This show prob has the goat fall off.
Hell yeah lol, fun ride that eventually goes off the rails like a lot of shows, but unless you're a snob that's gonna be too busy comparing and complaining there is some good TV there.
