Getting a black belt in BJJ is VERY hard and takes a lot of dedication. I know some people who say it took them 6 years to get their black belt. Getting a black belt very quickly would most likely mean that you're training in a "mcdojo" and you're instructor is selling you BS.

Like I said being a black belt takes many years and many DEDICATION, basically your art(BJJ or any art) becoming your life... There are many reasons why one doesn't become a black belt, maybe having to focus on family or other important things like work. Which is why not anyone can become black belt so quickly. Some people just lose track. Then you have the fact that BJJ is expensive. All these factor into why someone doesn't become a black belt.

All I'm saying is him now being a black belt yet shouldn't be a knock.

Muay thai has a chance with certain factors.

Conditioning, takedown defense, strength, experience against grapplers, or fighting an out of shape Jiujitsu opponent.

Jiujitsu requires conditioning when you're talking about high level fighting so men who lack conditioning and or an ability to dodge strikes are susceptible to being dropped if they are winded trying to get takedowns

But put a muay Thai guy who can't grapple against a well conditioned Jiujitsu guy, I'd bet my money on that Jits.
