Based on the era he came up in, where decent QBs passed for between 3500-4000 yards & 30 TDs with ease, McNabb never passed for over 4000 yards, only passed for more than 30 TDs once & only had a QB rating over 100 once in his career. Comparing McNabb to Jim Kelly makes no sense, very different era for QBs. Compare him to his contemporaries, Peyton, Tom, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Favre. I think McNabb was a good QB with moments of greatness, but he's not a Hall of Famer to me

He also had a relatively short career...again he was good and sometimes very good but never really consistently great
with the context of era, McNabb's numbers are better than John Elway's.

Of course the ATL

But amongst McNabb's peers, McNabb doesn't quite measure up. Plus all the top QBs of this era have won a Super Bowl, which makes him look even worse in comparison.

I think McNabb may get in eventually, I just don't think good/very good players should be in the Hall. It should be great/elite players only

Elway's peers had better numbers than him as well.

and McNabb had a season where he was 6 yards short of 4000 and Peyton Manning was 2 yards over 4000.

I dont buy it. Dude a HOFer.

Kelly is a HOFer right? We are talking about going to the HOF correct? Beyond that the big changes in rules didn't really come into play until later in McNabb's career. Even futher beyond that, Kelly's contemporaries were Marino and Montana :usure:. Rodgers didn't become a starter until damn near 10 years after McNabb and Brees wasn't even in the convo until he went to NO in 06. Favre only had a QB rating over 100 once himself and during the time that they were both playing Donovan was the superior player. I will give you Peyton and Brady. That said I am not sure how much better they would have fared throwing the likes of Pinkston, Trash, Curtis and co.

the only QBs that were better than McNabb in his prime were Brady and Manning. That is it.

Mcnabb's an in between era player kind of- the early 2000's there were some shyt QB's as the real influx didnt start til 2004.

He's certainly borderline- obviously if you lump him in with Manning, Brady, Rodgers and Brees- nah. But his numbers are pretty much Jim Kelly's, slightly worse.
