Yep. It adds an air of mystique around you and the shot in question. It also works as a lure to get someone to be more blatant with their response to you. Meanwhile, you can sit and strategically plan how to take them out.

The ONLY real way to beat Drake in this generation would be to play him at his own game. The reason why Drake dominated the summer last year is because he decided to make his diss a banger as well, and he's smart as fukk for that, because it worked big time. Meanwhile, Meek went about it very unprepared and last minute. I like Meek, and I like Drake. I'm not a fan of Drake not writing all of his music, and I'm not a fan of Meek wilding out because of someone not tweeting his album. BUT, you can clearly see in that situation who was prepared and who wasn't.
It's tough though, because Drake is a hit-making machine, so his songs towards you are bound to be hits. But if you can manage to make a better hit diss track OR make something so vicious that it brings attention by itself, you could do it.
