It has been proven that Drake doesn't write his own raps, how much no one really knows. We do know he had ghostwriters for full verses though. That right there alone means you cannot say Drake is better than Hov.
Jay hasn't dropped an album in 3 years. Interesting. No nikka u have no swag sayin shyt like that....Jay had Nikkas rockin iceberg, drinking champagne types and makin sure they ranges was 4.6's.....what trend has fukkin Drake started, puttin hoes on pedestales......u gotta be swaggerless nikkaDrake a better entertaitner

I don't agree. Jay-Z was never big. He was consistent.
50 Cent, Nelly, Eminem and Ja Rule were BIG. Jay-Z was just consistently dropping platinum or 2x platinum albums every year while they were doing 5x platinum, 8x platinum, so kill all that noise. Adjusted for downloading and people not buying records anymore, Drake IS on Ja/50/Nelly's level of popularity. Now that's speaking commercially. If you wanna talk about artistry, classic records and critical reception, then that's another argument and I'll agree Drake has nothing on Jay.

Video has got me comparing the two and I honestly cant think of a good reason why Drake won't see himself as the new Jay.
He has the wittiness of Jay in his lyrics
His flow is as good and in my opinion better than Jay
His catalogue is as good as Jay Z's when he was at the same stage
So is Drake right? Is he the new Jay?
I'm sure there are other similarities between the two that I have overlooked but I will let ya'll bring it up![]()

How was DMX bigger than Jay in 98?So what? I lived through the era. How old are you? Drake is the TOP ARTIST right now in hip hop. You're full of shyt if you think Jay-Z was the top artist back then. It was DMX in 98 and 99, Nelly in 2000, Ja Rule from 2001 to 2002, then 50 Cent took over....so when exactly was Jay-Z a mega superstar like Drake is right now? Don't answer me before saying how old you are.
Jay went 5x Platinum with Vol 2. He was huge.
DMX sold 7 million records that year with two records, then another 6 million records in 99-2000 and then was in a bunch of popular hood movies like Exit Wounds, Belly and Romeo Must Die so to alot of people he was the more popular artist. Then Nelly sold 9 million records in 2000, then Ja Rule had 2000-2002 under his thumb, then 50 Cent came out in 2003 selling 12 million records. When exactly was Jay-Z the King the way you see Drake far and above the competition. When? Even in 1998 the year you brought up DMX was right there with him, if not past him, with Eminem selling 3x as much. You nikkas can't be objective to save your life.So what? I lived through the era.
