his hits are pop records listener friendly female friendly

all his L's were caught when he tried to flex in the traditional "gangster"rap lane

he's one of the most successful pop.acts currently for sure

as far as rap goes he's been chasing the crown in that lane while applying pop music rules

ghostwriting is fine but not in terms of being seriously considered for that tier that esco & jigga etc. inhabit

when he gets on that "gangster" rap vibe he hops way out his true character it just doesn't connect

he unnecessarily called for confrontation when he could've had a perfect track record just sticking to the simpr.aps dear diary raps

as he said himself he's easily influenced by the nikkas he's around & you can hear see him having gawdamn identity crisis starting with him linking up with tune

if he stayed in his lane he'd have no points to criticize

this line is kinda the center of what I'm getting at. Drake has spent a lot of time around Cash Money AND Rap a Lot and all the gangster shyt that supports those labels on a street level. Drake may not have had to fall into the gangsta shyt if he wasn't around that element but fact of the matter is, having the support and close ties to criminal elements and effectively being the capo and financier of his organization, the nikka is a de-facto mob figure.

Lets get past the fact that he didn't grow up in the hood, we're discussing the adult that voluntarily entered that lifestyle.

He’s a pop-star, not a rapper. nikka has even said it himself. Stop with this bullshyt :heh:

His fans try to cling on to his rap days to not seem like the corny nikkas they are. Being a stan of his is equivalent to stanning Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber :heh:

He holds multiple titles at once, he's a rapper, a pop artist, and r&b artist.

I'm more of a Young Thug fan but my personal favorites have no bearing on this thread, I'm speaking objectively.
