Even if you think they rap better frm a technically standpoint, you cant put half of those nikkas above Drake on a top 100. They dont have the impact, influence, popularity, longetity or classics.
nelly was moving twice as many units as the other highest-selling black rappers at the time. he was putting up the same numbers as eminem at em's peak. yet, youre in here acting as if hes some rapper that crept to gold courtesy of the sales-spike era.
and more importantly, the country grammar album alone got more play in the hood than drake's whole discog. that 1st nelly tape even got jail-play.
also, do remember, nelly didnt get the machine behind him until AFTER he started moving crazy units. his initial push was designed to have the same level of success as a rapper like say trick daddy at best. so this whole idea of downplaying nelly's run doesnt fly over here.
forget selling records. drake wouldnt have even got a record deal in that time period.
