So I remember at the end of last season he had all the hype. Like literally he was the next "great white hype": An explosive athletic and aggressive scoring white pg/sg from a major school with some marketability. He actually had fans. Now he's not even considered Dukes "star player". He's barley mentioned by the media unless its something bad. He doesn't even start games. Haven't seen him playing much/featured in Dukes offense like he use to (even though he still managed to have some big games:hubie:).

Seems like he has a target on his back by the refs/fans/media when he is on the court. Everyone expecting him to do something dumb again.

Everything changed since his tripping incidents.:manny:

Did he ruin his NBA stock. Or will NBA scouts look past this and still draft him in the first round?

Allen doesn't even start anymore

He should've left last year when his stock was high. Staying for extra years in CBB is not a good idea. You're losing out on millions

Alex Poythress from Kentucky stayed until his senior year to try to win a championship, and not only did he never win one he costed himself millions in the process :Holdupnow::Holdupnow:

regarding him not starting lately, it's 100% injuries/managing his minutes. He sprained his ankles badly in consecutive games against clemson and UVA and was basically playing on 1 leg (and playing like shyt) for a 5 or 6 game stretch. Before that, he was starting to peak culminating with the big game at home against UNC. Even coach K said in an ideal world that he would've been rested for a few weeks, but ACCT and NCAAT seeding was on the line so he played him. Allen on 1 leg is still a threat/better than alot of guards and he's had nagging injuries all season. The few times he's been fully healthy this season, he's put up big games. Unfortunately, he's not having the luxury of playing exclusively off the ball like kennard has or like he did last year when thornton was playing PG. playing PG definitely does not come naturally to him (although he's actually quite unselfish and has great vision), and he's been extra passive some games b/c of it. I think he comes back next year as a 4th yr grad student and plays much more efficiently off the ball. He can be a 20-25 pick next year in a weaker draft, and a 30-40 pick in this draft as he currently stands.

I actually think he's back for his senior year. Just like Paige from UNC. You should leave when your stock is highest, and Paige and Allen both made the mistake of coming back after being the focal point in their sophomore seasons. Not saying either would have been a great nba player, but coming back to school definitely hurt their careers. Both players had injury plagued junior years, and Paige was hurt for alot of his senior season. Regarding Allen, he clearly hasn't been the same player he was before the tripping incident. Then when he came back, he tweaked his ankle, and is still nursing a sprained ankle.

Nah....if you can play you can play. Marcus Paige fell off after his Soph year. He's been trash in the D league.

I agree....which is why he made a mistake coming back for his Junior season. Had he left after his sophomore year he would have been a lottery pick, but at worst a late first rounder, with a guaranteed contract. He missed out on a couple millions dollars, which he may never recover by the way it looks like his career is trending. I never said he would have been a star or even stuck in the league, but I'm sure he misses those millions he may never have the opportunity to see again.

He's effective at the COLLEGE level. Grayson Allen does not possess "above average" athleticism or speed. He's mad average in those regards, and he's an average shooter, at best. He doesn't do any ONE thing "very well", and combined with his lack of athleticism that's gonna make his transition harder than he thinks.

Most importantly, not only is it questionable whether or not his "skills" translate to the pro level, but dude is a GRADE A headcase. He'll never survive the NBA as a POUTING CRYBABY, and if he thinks he's gonna punk some player by kicking him or elbowing him, well....like I said, Kermit Washington, nikka. ::martin:

No matter when he came out he was going to wash out of the league in 3 years anyway. He better enjoy his time in college.

Same lie was told about Austin.
Austin wouldn't have had a job if it wasn't for his father. However he used the the opportunity to turn himself into a decent backup point guard, which is what every team in the NBA needs. Grayson Allen is a slasher with limited athleticism, a mediocre jump shot and a reputation for being an a**hole. They are not the same.

ALL 12/3/2 backup PGs shooting 45% and 40% from 3 have jobs in the NBA. Shut the hell up. Is Reggie Bullock father coaching the Pistons, because I dunno why he's still in the league?

Grayson is playing with an injury. And he'll stick in the NBA. And then you'll just move the goalposts and declare he's not a "star" as if that's the threshold.

It's a known fact Austin was on his way out of the league until his father traded for him. Go and look at his numbers before he got that Clippers stimulus package.

Grayson Allen will not stick in the league. The fact that you're going so hard for a mediocre player says a lot about you :mjpls:

Please, tell us what Grayson Allen, a guy with no position, no jump shot and no athleticism can bring to the table for an NBA franchise. He's not even as good as Nik Stauskas or McDermott, let alone a real contributor in the league.

It seems like you've moved the goalpost already because I'm sure before this season you were telling everyone how he's a lottery pick and a starter in the league. Now it's but "but but he's hurt, he'll stick in the NBA" :bryan:
