FD panders if you let him talk long enough.
no, the older women are just predators. And those gender roles are pushed by greater society, which women still do not have control over. You're not wrong in that. I'm just thinking in retrospect though where these men are in our community since we also have dealt with single parent household lead by women. Some of my learned behaviors about gender roles I learned by women growing up, not men. Even damaging things like not crying or what a "sissy" is. Yes it's gendered ideals perhaps pushed by patriarchy but these were women pushing this to me as a young boy. It's not far fetched to surmised that some of these older women thought they were helping these young boys into "manhood" by having sex with them.
True. I think i take issue with him blaming the boys that are subjugated to patriarchy much like the women. I think many white liberal adjacent people still subscribe to the idea that women are perpetual victims (therefore cannot oppress others) but rather they are juat operating in a system of oppression which I find as a slightly intellectually dishonest take.no, the older women are just predators. And those gender roles are pushed by greater society, which women still do not have control over.
But focusing on that still takes away heat from the actual sexual abusers... the women. But he's right. Boys being groomed by older women not being taken seriously is usually done other men, typically older men. There's been more than enough male celebrities just as examples that force sexual situations on their children or boys they're supposed to be mentoring to "make them men". I remember growing up where men were shaming boys talking about how lucky they should be. Women aren't pushing that.
Oh no doubt. He knows his audience, hes not gonna disrupt them checksI'm not saying men are completely blameless but he made an entire video on the topic blaming black men without even mentioning the mindset and thought process of the women who perpetuate these crimes.
And this is the main problem with breh videos, he takes complex issues and simplifies them into trendy buzzwords.
a lot of that shyt is called out thoughIt's funny y'all have a problem blaming Patriarchy for this
But in this same forum so many men go Into threads saying "I wish that happened to me when I was a kid" or " It ain't rape cause he wanted it"
And this is normal in every day life as well
So yeah I hope y'all ain't got sons or nephews
I think the point hes making is if YG had told other black men what happened they'd laugh at him and say stuff like "you're lucky you got some p*ssy youngblood. You sounding zesty right now"Well he isn't off base because it doesn't really serve us as Black people, but he is blaming a structure by men and saying YG couldn't process being a victim of sexual assault because it's manly to have sex with an older woman rather than blaming the perpetuator i.e the older woman in the song. I mean I get that patriarchy is complicit here somewhat but its also misdirection IMO.
Yes - this is what I was trying to explain above. We have high rates of sexual violence against us dating back to slavery when our genitals were removed/mutilated. It is far more than 'patriarchy' and the faults of it but rather an over arching anti-black misandry and racism we as Black Men face in society, especially straight Black men.
Great break downI think the point hes making is if YG had told other black men what happened they'd laugh at him and say stuff like "you're lucky you got some p*ssy youngblood. You sounding zesty right now"
His mother would've raised hell but not other men. You used to see it here whenever there was a news story about an adult teacher molesting a teenager talking about "should have been me! Where were those teachers when I was in school?"
There isn't a sense that "you were a child who got taken advantage of by an adult and that wasn't okay" which makes sense to me as a criticism. It's not okay for an adult to touch boys regardless of whether it's a woman or not. Theres a double standard that lets female predators get away with causing long term psychological harm to young men. Women recognize it as wrong when they find out a woman touched their son and their reactions are negative(towards the adult) and sympathetic (towards the victim and their family) when they find out a male child was touched by an adult woman.
But its too common for men (like boosie who he used as an example) to not give a shyt or think its good actually that a 30 year old told a 13 year old to eat her ass.
He made a good point about fukked up celebrities who had bad relationships with women also having been molested but never feeling like there's space for them to talk about that shyt because the way we frame sex it's like "you achieved something if a woman touched you. You're a real man!" Regardless of if that woman is a pedophile.
You’re right. But there are a frightening large amount of women who also support and condone and excuse grown women having sexual contact with young boys. We should acknowledge that tooI think the point hes making is if YG had told other black men what happened they'd laugh at him and say stuff like "you're lucky you got some p*ssy youngblood. You sounding zesty right now"

And this is the crux of why liberalism never solves anything. The underlying premise in just about every subject is the idea that there are no bad or evil womenBut focusing on that still takes away heat from the actual sexual abusers... the women.
It acts like they are only molesting boys because of the patriarchy, and not because women can be bad people
And prevents the boys from being seen as actual victims since the focus is redirected back to how men praise the act
