Has any large lyrical theme ever actually died in hip hop? Production trends have for sure, but I'm relatively new to hip hop as a listener so I'm curious if there's a precedent for this sort of thing.

To answer the original question, I doubt it.

If you mean the g-funk era then maybe but there's still a lot of brehs rappin about what they dealt with on the street and comin up in the street etc.

couple of those Kendrick songs sound like prime Dogg Pound though :wow: :whew:
