If you mean the g-funk era then maybe but there's still a lot of brehs rappin about what they dealt with on the street and comin up in the street etc.

Exactly. If by "gangsta rap" you mean the original late 80s/early 90s West Coast rap genre, I guess you can say that's been dead. But as far as rap from nikkas from the street, whether it's "drill" or "trap" or whatever, nah...

A gangster rapper put out the best album last year and just released some fire last week. Shyt ain't dead to me.

G-Unit was the LAST good era of main-stream rap. You can find good underground shyt anywhere. But mainstream been trash since '06.
