There are more people who complain about people who hate Giannis than there are people who hate Giannis.

This rise of Giannis love is weird. It’s like people just want to be on the right side of history, they aren’t even his stans.

Giannis hate is minimal compared to Harden or Lebron hate on here.

It’s atleast one thread a day reminding everyone that we hate Giannis.

The bolded is the thread-starter's point. His regular season self has won MVP two of the past three seasons, and he's done so with numbers that aren't ho-hum. People are looking past that. He may be limited offensively but he is not ordinary.

It didn't matter if Giannis was going for 30 and 12 every game against the Nets. The story pushed was can KD drag the Nets to the next round. I saw hardly any mention about the Bucks mollywhopping Miami in round one.

Now, everybody is wondering if Trae Young can move this scrappy Hawks team past the Bucks like they are some sort of juggernaut. No one is really talking about how steadily excellent Giannis' numbers have been.

Well, I was kinda being generous because I don't really mind Giannis getting his ring. But actually his numbers are down almost across the board compared to his regular season stats.

He increased his number of 3PT FGAs a little but the already poor percentage fell off a cliff to 19%. His already sub-par FT% dropped significantly to a number so poor that Middleton almost makes as many free throws as he does on four fewer attempts. His scoring went up by only 1 point even though his FGAs increased by 4 (!). So his 3PT%, his FG% and his FT% all went down (although admittedly his 2PT% only by a slight margin, which is the point you were alluding to). His assists, steals and blocks have gone down even though his minutes have gone up by 5.5. He does grab 2 rebounds more but that is expected because of the minutes. His TOs have stayed the same which is decent given the minute increase.

Basically, he scores six points more than Middleton on three more field goal attempts. He's a good rebounder but his defense has been overrated. It's definitely not on a DPOY level. As many people have pointed out, he also hasn't really improved on the infamous holes in his game. He's actually gotten worse as some of the above numbers show.

His real strength has been his durability for which he will be rewarded with a very good chance at a ring.

I've always thought Shaq's dominance is somewhat overstated but Shaq at least showed out in the Finals. Let's see what Giannis does there before putting their numbers side by side.

Been saying it for the last 2 years. There’s an obsession about him being a wing player. This nikka is the most dominant player of his generation. Let’s appreciate what he can do. nikkas mad that he’s not the best player of alltime cause Giannis with a pure jumper would literally be the best ever

Exactly.

And Middleton doesnt have to put up 38 every night for this team to win. He just gotta avoid the 5 for 23 or whatever it is shooting nights.

Khris gets 20+

Jrue gets 15+

That will always give the Bucks a shot because you know Giannis is gonna get his 25+

And what Khris and Jrue can give you on the perimeter defensively cant be understated. Sure, Trae will get his, but the key is not letting Bogdanovic and Huerter get theirs.
Middleton goat, throw up w bunch of trash shots and giannis get the blame if they lose cause he missed some fts :mjlol: :ahh:

He's the Bucks best and most consistent player but let the haters tell it he has no "bag":mjlol:

2x MVP for a reason and if he wins that chip this year y'all nikkas gon be so mad:banderas:

nikkaz with agendas will be mad. That's all. And unfortunately in the world today, everyone's agenda can be broadcasted via the internet whereas before it was just between friends and at the barbershop, etc.

So many people have gotten rings due to injuries in the NBA that it ain't funny but it's not brought up when it's someone well liked.

Bogi not being himself is killing the Set right now. I respect him trying to play through it but his shot is dead right now from his injury

For the faults that Giannis has we often forget just how dominant he is most of the time. It's things he could be better at obviously but he deserves praise for the shyt he does bring to the table and his versatility and athleticism at that size should be applauded.

Yeah, you can tell he isnt 100%.

The shots he missed are ones he usually knocks down. I feel like if he and Kevin combine for 30, this team can win the whole thing. Collins being in foul trouble didnt help.

Game 4 is gonna tell a lot

I've heard a lot of people bring up injuries pertaining to the Bucks right now tho. I feel like it's general consensus that the Nets would've stomped them if healthy. I'm just happy he's got a great chance for a ring.

Do cats bring it up with Toronto and hold that against them?
Cappers had injuries at the worst times in the playoffs throughout the lob city run in the 2010s?
Earv getting hurt in 89?

list goes on

many other examples, but no one truly cares at the end of the day because if their team was in the same situation, they'd take the ring too. Injuries happen. We all knew the Nets were always one injury away from 3 dudes who had injury issues. No one was shocked when it happened.
