Its an undeniable classic in the sense of it 'defines a time and subgenre of hip hop'. Its not classic in the sense of 'top quality on all fronts'.

That being said, the raw ignorance, the voice of lil dap, and the production all mix to make a personal great album. For me the feeling this album gives me is unmatched, its like i literally feel like i am sitting on my stoop back in BK and one of my boys i aint seen in a few months pops up, and is like 'yeah son i just got out and been in Spofford for a minute, lemmie tell you what happened...'

Its probably primos best produced album... and thats saying a lot...

Dap makes Migos and even Drake to look like ABC-rappers. It is one of few mid-90s east coast album I can bump front to back and just vibe the shyt out of it. The beats are incredible and they did a good thing taking the passenger seat on em

:skip: Yes, and Lil Dap is one of my favorite rappers of all time.

He's the goat at rhyming "real like, straight like that"

Lyrically they weren't great, but Lil Dap had a cool voice, and he rode the joints proper. I said it in another thread recently where someone was talking about how producers often don't do full collab albums with the best rappers. I was saying how most producers I've met or read interviews with have said they just enjoy doing full albums with people that can ride the beat and are fun or easy to work with, that know how to stay in the pocket and fit in with the music.

Most of your favorite producers have done full albums or heavy production for super average rappers. I see no problem with it, but I'm a beat head anyways. I always check production more than lyrics, so Livin Proof never bothered me.
