Her hair does look bad and that messy hair look is styled.

My issue with the girl isn’t her texture...it’s how it’s presented. Balding around the edges, like someone said given that she doesn’t have much hair it would have been best to left as FRO.

There is nothing self hating about admitting that a messy hair style on natural hair cannot be created the same way as loose hair texture. It still has to look aesthetically pleasing and the black girl’s hair doesn’t.

be ashamed of your natural kinky hair..:comeon: maybe if black women didnt think western straightened styled permed hair was the beauty standard this woudnt happen

Let’s not go there. Maybe if black women weren’t discriminated against and haven’t had a history of their hair being treated less than we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

And not all BW have the same texture of hair, tightly coiled/kinky hair is mocked and disrespected in the black community by women and men.

Dudes be just as quick to mock a girl for her complexion or their hair but everytime these topics come up they want to act brand new on why women who don’t have mixed looking hair covering it with weave?? Isn’t part of biracial women appeal is their loose textured hair which not all black women have??

None of the girls hair looks asthetically pleasing

Or are you said h&m shouldnt employe young black women that are balding on the sides?

Grease for what? The concept is "fresh out of a school day" what would grease do? Make it look less kinky? Less afro? Less straight? The other kids dont have grease
These other girls hair are styled to look like a messy hair. The girls hair is not styles in a way that is appealing.

A lot of effort is put in an ad campaign even those that seem effortless.

Mostly by women

Black women in general hate blsck hair, hence why so many WORLDWIDE wear asian, brasilian wigs and weaves

What a reach...you know nothing about hair styling. Salons styles peoples hair like you see on the other non black girls.

I want black girls to be treated with the same decency that white/non black girls and mixed girls are treated in advertisinng and media and that is 99% not the case.

Her styling looks bad. Her edges alone make this a bad look, I would have had it as a messy fro instead of this pony, and all these other kids hair are much longer than hers making for a better style look.

Yes they are, do you know anything about advertising...everything is properly considered aesthetically and I am telling you these kids hair are styled in a messy style.

I bet you no effort was put on that black girls hair cause most stylist on these campaigns are white and don’t care to handle highly textured hair that isn’t loosely textured. You can’t do the same thing on natural hair as you can do on loosely textured hair for the same desired look.

I speak from experience as a former child who attend ad campaigns.

This is like the Gabby Douglas outrage all over again. Her moment was ruined by insecure people who didn't like her hair. Then she went on to deal with racism from her own teammates. I guess winning a gold medal means nothing if your community hates your hair smh.

That’s different, she is an athlete competing and her hair was pulled back she wasn’t on a fashion show.

This ad though is badly styled, the messy look is a carefully crafted look and hers doesn’t look good.

Would rather have my daughter's hair look like that than put a weave in or straighten it.

I know it isn't the world's definition of beauty but it works for me.

:manny:

Still wouldn't shop H&m though.
