The national average for HOA fees is $200-300 a month. Real Talk. If this was your neighbor and you paid a pro to clean all this up, how much would it cost, vs what you pay in HOA fees? 3 months worth of HOA fees?

guarantee that 200-300 isn't paying for personal lawn care. it probably covers common areas, but not for your individual home. it only cost like $150 a month to pay pro's to do my grass. and thats only 5 months a year.

My HOA fees are strictly for maintenance a nearby park, not for anything related to my house. Has anyone here ever heard of those type of HOAs?

I mentioned earlier that chicago doesn't really have HOA's, but there happens to be a slightly newer sub division a couple blocks from me, and they have a private playground and they pay HOA fees.

my block has houses that are 70-100 years old for the most part, so there's no HOA's. city handles the snow, and they are great at that. I just gotta do my steps, back porch and sidewalk. it's no big deal.

But those fees always go up
explain to me what service doesn't go up in price over the years?

what lawn care company is charging the exact same prices today from 5 years ago?
what pool company?
what landscaping company?
what concierge service?
what party hall is renting at the same rate?
shyt even gym fees go up

a well-run HOA will have reasonable increases in fees. like mine went from 209 - 242 in 6 years. poorly run HOAs have wild price increases or high fees with little in return.

I know a ton of folks living under HOAs who don't get their driveways plowed nor get their lawns cut. Also trash removal is standard for most mid to large cities. If you buy a home with a pool, why pay for the communal one?
all HOAs are not equal. some HOAs provide a lot of great value. some don't. everything there is to know about the HOA can be provided to you if you ask before you close on the house so you can figure out if it works for you or not.

Yes prices go up, and it's nice that you have the perfectly run HOA and therefore because you have a good situation that makes the overwhelming experience for everyone else good too because of course your experience is the only one that matters .

Yeah, all others HOAs people complain about are just bad people. And course all HOAs that are full of bad people have always been full of bad people. A change in the board or a major situation never happened because of course we can only go off of you, your experience and how great you HOA is, right?

Thank you for telling up how much better you are. It's always nice to hear how invalid the rest of the world is when 1 person comes in and flexes on everyone else. Oh happy day.
