Cube and Kurupt

I guess you'd have to put Ras Kass up there too even though guys kind of strange

I wouldn't even hesitate to call Game one of the best lyricists from west.

How much has his movie career taken a toll on his rap career?

Im asking cuz as big as Cube is and what he has done it seems hes rarely mentioned or alotta times forgotten when talking
top MCs. Usually the Snoop, 2pac etc comes up but Cube is up there as well.

Hes one of my GOATS.

Cube, Snoop, LL etc became so big that they're general celebrities at this point. The people that know their music is a subset of that. Millions of people know LLs music but there's a massive group of people who know him from NCIS and shyt and that's it. A lot of younger people know Snoop as the weed smoking OG even if they never bumped his music. The outside success of these men shouldn't have any bearing on the quality of the music if talking music quality is your intention.

If they only did music they'd only be known for music. Cube almost always gets mentioned when talking west coast GOATs

If you differentiate between 'lyrical' and 'technical' whereby the former term is used to describe conveying emotions, storytelling concepts etc. in a creative way whereas the latter term refers to rappers that mastered techniques of the English language e.g. similes, metaphors, alliteration etc., then YES, Cube is the best or at least top 3. He isn't technical on the level like an Eminem or Ras Kass though.

Cube the GOAT.

Ras Kass is a mark
You're entitled to that opinion, but the thread is best lyricist, which he is. Clearly, no debating. Soul On Ice is the best written WC album ever, save maybe Death Certificate, but he is lyrical King of the West.

Common mentioned this as well...he was on a show, and his younger cast mates were surprised he made music.

and I remember Cube saying that people know him more for the family friendly flicks than the music.

Ice-T says people stop him more for SVU than music

kinda crazy when you really think about it, cause we generally know them for the music and not the acting/other ventures but the younger gen knows the opposite
