Happiness is not science nor is it math.

The whole concept of that word is a mixture of very distinct feelings, such as joy, tranquility, pleasure, contentment, bliss and more. This makes it more so that permanent happiness is a juggling of all those feelings and knowing when to rely on which to preserve your "happiness".

But even the above doesn't delve deep into what happiness truly is, often happiness is a subversion of opposite emotions into the ones mentioned above. Like turning to contentment when you're powerless to change a situation, or relying on pleasure when you feel pain, or turning to bliss/tranquility when you're not able to physically move due to outside circumstances.

So it's not a matter of numbers, but rather knowing exactly when to rely on which aspect of happiness to remain...well, happy.

That's what I think the breh @SunZoo means when he talks about perspective.

Which is why neutrality is such a gift.

Learning how to stay level gives you the freedom to grieve if need be and then a short distance back to equilibrium Bless the bi-polar brothers on here who and swing from debilitating depression to free flowing manic episodes where they can't do anything but love and be excited about everything.

Are you happy?
No nikka. :russ:

The shyt I said on my post is NOT easy at all to do. Subversion of emotions requires very fast-acting emotional intelligence skills. I lack those severily at the moment, but I'm working on it. :mjlol:

I'm my case it's the perfect example of knowing the theory but being trash as fukk in the practice department. :pachaha:

Maybe one day!

I will say this....as a young man I smoked alot of weed and drank alot of alcohol in order to "feel good".
It probably worked while the substance was in my system, but once it was gone so was the feeling.
That affected every aspect of how I moved,as I was happier doing things and being with people if I had weed and booze.

Now as an older adult,I haven't had a drink in almost 10 years,I don't smoke, abstain from sugar and I haven't had animal flesh since 1997 (except fish).
I lift weights 5 days.a week and run 1 day.

I can honestly say,I'm just about always happy,as the dopamine drip is constantly leaking, and it isn't being artificially induced by outside sources.

Even when things in life don't exactly go they way I would want them to,I take it in stride because it seems like as long as I operate on the side of positive, the universe will balance things out.

Happiness and a sense of well being and be induced through clean living and navigating through the world/people in a way which mitigates/distances you from undue stress.

You can't truly understand or experience happiness without the opposite polarity.

What you CAN do is reach a baseline of neutrality where at any given moment you have freedom of choice to choose to find things to be happy about more often than not, that is where the real power is, being neutral.
I believe this is the inner peace we all should be aiming to achieve :blessed:

I noticed you phrased it as "just about always happy"... as if not quite 100%..

I'm not trying to tell you whether you're always happy or not. I'm not in your mind/soul/spirit/body/whatever.. what tf do I know about you

I just found it interesting you weren't definitively confident in stating your level of prolonged happiness.. "just about" leaves room for "not always".. (my original point)

I stated it like that because nothing is 100% besides death.
I'm not happy when a nyc uber driver cuts in front of me just to then go 20 mph.

It was a joke!
People who say that.. are they liars?

Is there a such thing as a life free of difficulty or suffering in any form?

Are there really people out there who's lives are going great in all areas, relationsip, health, career, finances etc?
It's called low expectations and smoking weed

1. As the old folks used to say: “Happiness is a choice”.

2. Being content. I think a lot of folks confused being happy with being content.

Only if you remain detached from others. Imagining someone going to your loved ones funeral being happy and giggling during the service:stopitslime:

I’m the same way! Omg.

I fully believe that you have to almost trick your mind/spirit into a state of endless optimism. Like, almost to the point of insanity. It sounds cheesy, but it keeps you going in stressful times! There’s always light at the end of the tunnel, there’s always an open door or window, there’s always another chance. Never, ever give up. You may have to course correct, but NEVER give up.

I am pretty sure when a person says, "I'm always happy" they mean overall they are generally happy. It is a bit of hyperbole, that expresses that they are generally happy with life. Yes, they have their unhappy moments, but their happy ones drastically outnumber their unhappy ones.
