another way that rocks become radioactive is from "ground lightning"

so in other words, if earth had a cataclysm numerous radioactive elements could be produced in such an event. Lightning in the air can reach 30000 C...so at those kind of temperatures in the ground you can fuse metals

furthermore there is evidence of this with the patterns of many mines and quarries where metal ores are deposited in "vein like" structures.
