I get this all the time and I am not sure why. I dress pretty conservative. Most of the time I wear fitted shirts, fitted jeans, and a cap. I'm pretty sure its also how I carry myself too. I personally don't like it because people automatically assume I'm uptight. Those close to me know I'm a goofy person at heart but its the cop energy i project outward..

There's a certain visual and personality type that I associate with military guys. (posture, in good shape, outgoing and direct)
I once got told that I look like a doctor by a Korean guy at the dry cleaners. I wasn't offended at all but it made me wonder what the hell does a doctor look like.

but probably that ... with what you are saying about dressing generic

no judging you, just basing off your post and what ive seen in this situation
there's nothing wrong with it, if thats how you like to be though
people look for ways to judge you... if you dressed different... they would judge you for that too
its like how you can see someone usually and know what they are into
if you are dressed all generic and clean cut ... to me, you just look like a person who does shyt by the book and doesnt have fun.
its hard to gauge someone that is always generic and just chilling. Thats why I was like "usually look like undercover cops"
there's nothing wrong with it at all if thats your style though, like I said people will judge and complain no matter what. Its what they do, they want to find a box to put you in so they can treat you accordingly. Be cleancut and whatever if it matches your personality. Thats a dope thing.

I wouldnt call you a square based off that alone, but yes, dressing with drip / clout does differentiate you in a good way
