Is it a compliment when people say you look like a Cop and/or someone in military?

There's a certain visual and personality type that I associate with military guys. (posture, in good shape, outgoing and direct)

I once got told that I look like a doctor by a Korean guy at the dry cleaners. I wasn't offended at all but it made me wonder what the hell does a doctor look like.

:heh:
This. I get that all the time.

For reference, I typically sport a drop fade, slides, casual fits (sweatpants, plain shirt) and have a slim, muscular-athletic build with a mustache. Plus I have great posture, and always say "sir" or "ma'am" (I'm from Alabama, so you can already imagine why).

I take it as a compliment because most American men aged 22-30 aren't in good shape.

I also just so happen to be in the Navy:mjgrin:

Post a picture of a typical outfit.

Im guessing, you probably clean cut
Bland dresser
Short hair
No piercings / tattoos
No necklaces or accessories
Talk without slang
Yes to enerything except I have a few visible tats. I don't talk particularly proper. I have my own unique dialect. I do have a bit of a southern drawl though.

What I look like on most days.
Plain t shirt (black or white) with plain blue or black jeans (not the beat up kind). Right now its summer time so I'm in a lot of hoop shorts.

Means you look like a bytch and would kill innocent civilians.

I've been rocking facial hair for most of my adult life so I don't get the military look.

In NY NYPD cops are allowed to have facial hair and I assume they don't really have a "look" when their off duty as all walks of life apply for NYPD. Someone on here said they once heard NYPD cops bumping The LOX out of their car :pachaha:

I get this all the time and I am not sure why. I dress pretty conservative. Most of the time I wear fitted shirts, fitted jeans, and a cap. I'm pretty sure its also how I carry myself too. I personally don't like it because people automatically assume I'm uptight. Those close to me know I'm a goofy person at heart but its the cop energy i project outward..
It means you don’t have any facial hair and as black men that’s weird
