Its not a bad thing depending on the job. Your brain wastes away at the house with nothing to do. Lose that and the rest of you is sure to follow.Yep. I’ve been seeing retired people I know work out of need and even boredom. Those old heads hate sitting down tbh

Does early retirement mean an early death?
The latest research suggests that those ending work younger are more likely to die earlier than those staying in jobs. But is the data clearcut?www.theguardian.com

Agreed. The concept of living below your means is long gone.
Paying off a house? Buy another one and two more to rent out. It’s a never ending cycle of overextended oneself just because you can. It’s a disease. While it might get you wealthy it most likely will leave you stressed, depressed and working unnecessarily.
I’ve been putting away $1000 a month for 10 years while in the military. This on top of 10 percent each to Roth and Traditional for the past 13. I retire in 4 years. I bought a house 7 years ago in the country I will retire in and it’ll be paid off as soon as I get my DD-214.
I see ppl doing too many things or simply not enough but it really all boils down to living outside one’s means.
Ehh too many people automatically think retirement means sitting on your ass at home or the beach everyday doing nothing. Its not a bad thing depending on the job. Your brain wastes away at the house with nothing to do. Lose that and the rest of you is sure to follow.

Alot of retirement age people are house bound. Its actually a problem. Some may not be physically able to go back to work too.Who's retiring to sit in the crib and do nothing? You might as well go back to work then

Not necessarily. This security guard at my job did twenty years total in the army (4 years active duty and the rest in the national guard) and worked twenty years in the police concurrently. By the time he was fifty, he took on the security guard job because he was bored. He didn't need the money because he had a pension, house was paid off, kids were grown and out the house, but after spending a couple of years retired and doing a little traveling, he took the job out of boredom.working a 9-5 because your bored is the most ridiculous shyt Ive ever heard
This story is very common, not saying it isn't true or possible i personally just don't buy it. Security guard is high risk for someone who doesn't need it. I think a lot of old head are either ashamed or need healthcare. Not necessarily.
