Yo, shorty, I'm not one of these weirdos who gonna go back & forth with you. I fukks with BIG heavy, I'm just reiterating what was told to me by nikkas in his age bracket that was off the stoop putting work in.
No one said BIGGIE never had guns or work & that's the same position he was coming from. It's levels to everything, son said BIG wasn't on THAT level before getting signed, nothing more nothing less.
Put your fandom to the side & realize there's a possibility that it might be true. I'm not talking about some Coli nikkas who talk just to talk or hate just to hate. The nikka said it with no malice or ill intent, wasn't even a conversation about BIG, it was a hip-hop convo that turned into some street shyt.
I ain't trying to put homie business out there that ain't public record, but I'm pretty sure son has no reason to lie when he could've said nothing & he's a stand up dude through and through. Motherfukkers on here be talking just to talk.

And I'm no Pac fan by any means. I can't name more than 10, maybe 15 Pac joints and probably got 3 or 4 in my library. Biggie? Got all his shyt & I've been a fan since day 1. But THEM nikkas rock wit Pac more so from the Black Panther/Anti Government/Anti police stance he took & the fact he wasn't really a sucka like that. He might have gotten in to deep with that gang shyt, but that might have been part of his plan, who knows. Either way, just bc he wasn't a legitimate gangster don't mean he was a p*ssy.
Everybody & their mother know Pac history and that he wasn't born a thug, that don't make what I said any less valid. You Motherfukkers really need to learn about context.
That's you nikkas problem, you can't really be in the streets or have been around anybody if you a grown ass adult capable of critical thinking, and still BLINDLY being biased to your favorite rappers so much that you allow it to affect your judgment and believe every last one of these rap nikkas was kingpins moving weight.
I was like that as a child, but I'm grown now. nikkas act like EVERYBODY lying if its something they don't like. Like nikkas gotta be washed up, disgruntled lames for having an informed opinion about nikkas you only knew through listening to music. Son from Nostrand & Gates, RIGHT THERE, I'm pretty sure if I went to his block & ran his resume, he'd check out 100. If social media were out in the 90s, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But sadly (or maybe not sadly), it was the 90s, and all some ppl got from the era is word of mouth & eyewitness accounts that can be verified through other street nikkas from that era who know what it is.

That said, as a teenager in the '80s, it's completely understandable that BIG got into hustlin'. First off, the drug dealers were the ones all the kids wanted to dress like, look like, get the girls like, etc... shyt, even the rappers of that time were dressin' like the dealers. And it was the crack era, which was extra-profitable... Also back then, you still had "old school mothers"- not these women out here now who are 40+ turnin' up to trap music with their kids and buyin' them Jordans- I mean the ones who sure as hell weren't buyin' their teenager no different pairs of Adidas and high-priced clothes. We always hear about Biggie gettin' the toys he wanted and all that, but that sounds like shyt mothers do for their kids when they're younger. Hell, I know a lot of kids (me included) that had video games- doesn't mean any of us were spoiled or privileged. Nobody says what it was like when he was 15/16 or so, when you're gettin' older and you want more expensive shyt. So obviously, the route to go was to jump into the drug game- not sayin' it was the only option, but it was the easiest and it was right up the street from him... I don't know why this sounds like a strange idea given the time during which it happened.
