I mean you can't put Just in a bracket with RZA, Pete Rock, etc...you just can't.

Just like you can't put Jay Electronica in a bracket with Kool G Rap, Kane, Rakim, etc.

Even though he'd fit in, aesthetically...let's keep him to his era.

Sure you can...

If we're talkin' about producers who had their prime years and whose tracks were making a killing, Just is there with them no matter what era he came out in.

That comparison is even off. We can't put Jay Electronica with Rakim, Kane, or Kool G because Jay E puts out one song every six months and watches people swing from his nuts for 2 weeks every time. He doesn't have half a catalog to match with any of theirs. That's not the same as Just, who had as strong a run as any of the top 90s producers did- ONLY difference being that he didn't have his own artists that he did entire albums for.

Pete Rock, RZA, Premier, they've been around longer but they all had their primes just like Just did... and all of them are years past their prime too. Yeah, they're from different eras, but Just picked up that ball when they were dropping it, just like they picked up the ball from Marley Marl who never gets mentioned but has countless classic records to his name.
