originally from the 'ville
y'all trippin lord knows is :whoo: status

Also His work on Saigon's album is great, the way he produce the album so that everything flows together :ahh: And people are saying he can't hold together a whole project?

I agree "Compton" is a little underwhelming. Don't let one underwhelming beat fool you though, Just can still bring heat. Now as far as rankings, I don't know. But he is not trash as some are making him out to be.

See what I mean ya'll :pachaha:

nikkas actual think Bink! got his steeze from jus, when its the other way around :heh:

LMAO u nikkas is funny style.

Pardon Self.

If the aforementioned is accurate, I stand corrected.

First things first tho, just me speaking on ME, I heard of Blaze way before I heard of Bink. And what I heard was versatility. Son flipped samples + hard drums, pianos, etc...gave shyt a real 'live' sound...but also had them beats with that party vibe (i.e. Joe Budden/Peedi Crakk "Pump It Up/Roc The Mic" era) - a style I've never heard from Bink!, which I can't say he bit off of nobody. Moreless, Bink says he fell back from Roc-A-Fella after Just bit off of him, but from what I remember, he was still doing records for ALL the State Property acts, from the Young Gunz, Freeway, to Beans himself, Peedi & Oschino. That just don't add up.

So you stop producing for Jay because of some next nikka that bit off you? (Hmmmm...sounds like a real wise business move. That's what we're here for right? To make MONEY off these beats?)...Or you stopped producing for Jay because after hearing the two of you, he only wanted Just's beats? So u fukked with State Prop. But wait. Just was producing for them nikkas too.

Point is, anybody can say you bit off of them. Nobody know what the fukk was going on behind the scenes, where Just was drawing his inspiration from, etc. The fact of the matter is, ALL THESE TYPES OF PRODUCERS WAS USING SAMPLES...and it's a pretty well known fact that NY music with samples sounds better with hard/live sounding drums over it. It wouldn't make sense for Jay in 2001 to be rhyming over a fukking Nina Simone sample with 808's and double time hi-hats in it. So there's a very thin lane for East Coast producers who sample soul records as far as 'originality' is concerned.

Bink is an amazing producer, but he sounds bitter, and the logic behind it just doesn't add up. He could've deaded Roc all together, but he didn't. This is just one nikkas word vs. the other. U nikkas be on some "OH, BINK SAID IT, SO IT'S TRUE!...I HEARD BINK FIRST AND BINK SAID IT TOO SO IT'S A FACT!"...Lol. This ain't a blatant (Soulja Boy/Game) issue going on here, it's one man getting upset that someone was doing the same thing he was, just to a better extent, and reaped more benefits from it than he did, because he was hands down better at it. At the end of the day, the music speaks for itself. Bite or no bite, Just Blaze BEEN putting in the footwork, pushing his product to a better degree, and obviously caught Jay's (and fans') ear quicker/better than Bink did.

And IMO, Just > Bink!, if only by a little. I've heard way more diversity from Just. Period. Not for nothin, the man's had numerous productions on video games, and movies. If I'm the illest nikka on my block, and I feel like a nikka straight took my style and made it better, and succeeded, while I'm pretty much on a B-List level...of course I'ma want to say something after the fact. But I got too much dignity to do some shyt like that. Respect the nikka takin your shyt and making it better. IF he took it. Period. If not, let your music do the talking.

Just Blaze is one of the greatest producers in modern Hip Hop and this thread needs to be closed off and destroyed. :birdman:

Being bored at work is not an excuse to sit there and tell people Kanye West is a better producer than Just Blaze. :birdman:

We're talking about the same guy that produced Breathe, Kingdom Come, Interlude, Touch the Sky, Exhibit C and then smashed it in the mainstream with tracks like Oh Boy and Pump it Up.

and to the guys saying his beats haven't evolved in 2012

:beli: Stop it you slimes, Just Blaze is easily a top 10 producer, that's why he charges out his ass for his beats.

the problem with Just Blaze is that he only produced 2 albums "really 1 but he did 10 out of the 16 songs off Philadelphia Freeway so i guess thats enough to say that he produced it".

and when u look at other producers like Marley Marl, Rza, Alchemist, Ye, Dr.Dre, DJ Quik, Pete Rock, Havoc, Rick Ruben, Warren G, DJ Premier ect, all of them have at least 5 albums under their belts.

Its easier to sound like the best producer ever when making like 4 beats a year.

I don't think he's Top 10, but Just Blaze is like the last of the best. While I don't think he's top 10, he was one of the last super producers to blow up and do it on a major level. He had chart toppers and produced classics. He's even given heat to R&B artists. Usher's "Throwback" is one of Usher's best songs.

Superb producer. But all this top 5 talk? :usure:

Keeping it real G. Kanye a better and more versatile producer than Just Blaze.

I put Just Blaze more along the lines of the extremely talented one trick pony producers, like 9th wonder and em. Imo Lex Luger, Mike Will >>> Just as far as producing popular mainstream music.

JB in my top 15. But top 5? Nah :merchant:

RZA
DRE
Timbaland
Neptunes
Kanye West
3 6 mafia
Lord Finesse
The Alchemist
Bink
DJ Tomp
Dj Premier
The Hitmen ( :steviej: )
Daz
Dj Quik
No ID
Shawty Redd
Lex Luger

And I know im missing some more too :yeshrug:

as far a beats go everyone is entitled to their opinion...JB is still a top 5 for me. unless you have your own artist to cultivate as a producer, once you have a few hits people just want the same shyt that made you hot...:yeshrug:

I mean you can't put Just in a bracket with RZA, Pete Rock, etc...you just can't.

Just like you can't put Jay Electronica in a bracket with Kool G Rap, Kane, Rakim, etc.

Even though he'd fit in, aesthetically...let's keep him to his era.

When compared against other top producers of HIS era...Just Blaze is top 5. EASILY.

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
from the looks of it, just blaze will never break into the elite producer category. hes been out too long to not have full albums under his belt.kanye completely passed him over a long time ago and guys like madlib get way more respect. alchemist > just. very few producers can fit into that elite top 5 category with dre premier rza pete rock etc. even if we were to disregard every producer before 2000, just still wouldnt be a top 5 producer

all the shyt he works on is plagued by some type of elitist ego trippin BS. saigon "the greatest rapper of the gen debut album":shaq2: jay electronica LOL
