asking for a friend :lupe:

I know you won't have his skill set, defense, or instinct, but if you train hard are these kind of hands in reach for a novice?

:dahell:

Breh are you asking if you can get handspeed comparable to Adrien Broner after training for a year? AB's been boxing since he was like 9.

But if you hit the bag everyday or do mitts everyday with 16s on your hands will get plenty fast.

Hand speed and power are something you're either born with or not. As far as being on the level of someone like Broner with only a year of training :laff: Most boxers start when they're 8 or 9 years old. Granted there are some exceptions Bernard Hopkins and Deontay Wilder for example

Hopkins was an accomplished amateur... then he caught a case (no Stiverne)

Deontay is a heavyweight with Black Excellence running through his veins :obama:

Tony Thompson is a true anomaly :wtf:

You can develop Power...........just not other worldly power.

Power is more technique, timing, distance and angles then actual strength being exerted.

Quick mind- a quick mind equates quick reflexes, every punch starts with the mind.

Forget about power and punch with loose hands until impact.
What do you mean by punching with loose hands?

Well, no, pro boxers or any pro athlete period mastered the fundamentals at an early age. Not to discourage you, but to improve on speed and power comes directly from timing, breath control, and form.

Poor form makes you late and slow and footwork is the root for all things in boxing. Laggy legs and poor hip rotation will make you food. Bad cardio and/or poor breath control will make it worse.

Breathing is also important and adds fluidity to your movement, thus increasing your reaction time and that becomes a speed increase.

A year of solid practice with good coaches and a tough mental and physical regimen will certainly make you more capable in a year...If you spar 2-3 times a week you will be in great shape...
