People get too emotional around here. I was simply sharing information about a black radio talk show where callers would call in talking about voting republican. And when I sit down at the black sports bar to watch the bears game, I've talked with plenty generation X people who voice deep displeasure about the democratic party.

I'd actually argue that the reason the dems are so weak is because they're too much in the center with respect to our political spectrum.

Outside of the social issues regarding blm and lgbtq, the Democrats as a whole aren't that far left at all esp compared to other Western Nations.

And even when it comes to issues on race it's like they half step bc they know they need US but they also want to appeal to the 30-40% of whites that are on middle of the road.

Yeah I am in the opposite camp on this one. The only time that I notice the Democrats being centrists is when they perceive that some issue will affect African Americans. Otherwise from what I have seen they hold extreme positions on pretty much all the other stuff that I have noticed, which includes pushing the agendas of the sexual perverts; to assisting illegal immigrants (sanctuary cities, etc.); to open borders; to climate change. They seem to be way out of touch with regular people when it comes to those type of issues.

But boy do they ever get in line with the Republicans when it is time to issues that they think will affect nikkas. Everything from prison reform; to criminal justice sentencing; to police reform; to welfare reform; to funding HBCUs; to community reinvestment; to school reform, on and on and on. That is the shyt that Biden has always bragged about being able to reach across the isle with his Republican buddies to come to agreements on stuff. Meanwhile that goofy b*stard can not even get a Democratic Senator (Manchin) on board to approved his proposed budget much less any members of the Republican party.

Democrats always when it comes to pushing any actual issues that Black people advocate for. They don't push it until they think their White base is behind it. But they will go out of their way to push extreme shyt for other groups, even if the groups did not vote for them, and the Democrats will be about it at that.

No one got a lump sum government check in the mail to compensate for their grievance. I live in D.C. and I have people in NYC. I'm surrounded by people in my work and personal life who work in public policy and I'm telling you, I don't believe you. Even young Black people aren't defecting to the Republican party. Young Black people have been the ones leading the racial uprising and labor revolt. They may disengage from the Democratic party because it's too centrist, but please show me how they are becoming new Black Republicans. I need some empirical data.

Yes, true. I do think disengagement is a real issue and far more dangerous. But I'm still waiting for evidence that shows Black folks are switching to the Republican party, even as registered independents. The data says Black men were the highest supporters of Trump among the small legion of Blacks that voted for him in 2016, but were also polled 4 years later expressing dissatisfaction and regret for supporting him.
