I live in D.C. and I have people in NYC. I'm surrounded by people in my work and personal life who work in public policy and I'm telling you, I don't believe you. Even young Black people aren't defecting to the Republican party. Young Black people have been the ones leading the racial uprising and labor revolt. They may disengage from the Democratic party because it's too centrist, but please show me how they are becoming new Black Republicans. I need some empirical data..

"You don't believe me"..

Im telling you what in hearing/witnessing in Chicago Illinois.

You're telling me what you're hearing/witnessing in NYC and DC. And im not even debating what you're talking about where you at..

Now the burden of proof falls on you to post data about the political climate in black Chicago Illinois.. Unless you believe NYC and DC is the black mecca for all black thought nationwide then we have nothing left to discuss..

The response to climate change is a scam..

Climate change is real, but they out here telling us that we can prevent tornados by driving a prius.. shyt is ridiculous.

Man made induced climate change is lower than they are projecting.

I disagree strongly with the assertion that man induced climate change is lower than they're projecting. If anything its the exact opposite. Even the IPCC reports are watered down to give the veneer that it isn't as severe as it really is. Forty years ago even Exxon scientists knew that their product was causing drastic changes to the chemical composition of the atmosphere. They then went on to spend the next decades spreading misinformation. In particular, misinformation that suggests that man induced climate change isn't all that severe.

But you're correct that driving a Prius isn't going to stop tornados. But we do need to completely halt emissions and driving electric vehicles is a start. The real issue is over consumption. But no government that wishes to stay in power is going to admit and enforce that. Any solutions within this capitalist system will be within the bounds of capitalism. It likely wont work but its better than not doing anything.

This is the problem though.. You can't continue to just tax multi-billion dollar corporations that's causing these issues. If its bad for humanity, they simply need to be shut down.

They're gonna have Gavin Newsome run.

He's already ingratiating himself with black people in California with the reparations push.

And also telling Californians he's forcing our kids to get a covid vax to go to public school.

Honestly the best thing to do would have Newsome run then have kamala swap out for a Governor run so she saves face

For the next 4 to 8 yrs. Then it’ll swing back to the Democrats. It’s cyclical, no one party remains in power forever.

OK, I've done some research and you're right. There has been a rise in GOP engagement from Blacks in Chicago. It jumped from 9% to 15% in the past year. Small but significant, but it's also a lot more complicated than what you're saying and maybe you are oversimplifying it. There's a declining population and some gerrymandering going on. Taken from this article:

How the Remap Could Impact Chicago’s Three Black Congressional Districts
  • In the past decade, Chicago’s Black population has fallen 14 percent, part of a long-term decline that could reduce it from 1.2 million at its peak in 1980 to 665,000 by 2030.
  • In the Illinois General Assembly, 10 districts drawn with Black majorities after the 2010 census now have a minority of African Americans.
  • Non-Hispanic whites surpassed Blacks as the largest racial group in Chicago in 2010; they now make up a third of the population, compared with 28.5 percent for Blacks.
So yes, there apparently is a concerted effort to recruit more Blacks into the GOP in Chicago, but also the number of Black folks in Chicago voting has declined. That's a scary recipe.

Not over simplifying anything. Chicago is a ultra liberal city. Republicans haven't won a political seat in the Chicago area for years. And the gerrymandering is being done by democrats to give the Latino population more representation because they got the numbers now.

The black population in Chicago is becoming useless to the democratic party here..

It's almost like a canary in the coalmine. I don't want to think about this trend spreading but I could definitely see that happening in other places as the Latino population continues to rise and the Black population numbers stay stagnant while Black voters also continue to disengage.

Stick a fork in em :francis:

Democrats continue to lose bc of white women and latinos but refuse to address the issue

They have no idea how to move in the internet era, let people randomly select their platforms that they have no interest in solving. On the other hand every middle age doychebag with a pair of sunglasses and some racist ideas has created a social following :snoop:

I don't want to hear from republic00ns or don't vote crowd bc the opposite side is actively working at every level and every chance to make things worse for everyone not rich and white

If he can’t do it unilaterally then he should have never made that promise on the campaign trail.
Agreed. If he said he could do it unilaterally, but wasn’t sure if he could or not, he fukked up.
If he said he would do it as part of his agenda (which would have to go through Congress) them that’s something different. If we had 65 Dems in the Senate things would be different (unless 6 of them were like Manchin and Sinema). A lot of what a president can do depends on the makeup of Congress. A Presidential candidate can talk all day about what their agenda will be, but if they don’t have the House and Senate, they aren’t getting shyt done.

Probably.

Although I'm not nearly as hyped for full GOP control of the government as TLR seems to be :scust:
At this point, im of the opinion that shyt has to get worse, much worse, before it can get better.
