yeah I understand what your saying, but what I mean is for the most part the people deciding he has fell off is justified when you go from tha Carter 2, Dedication 2 and Da Drought 3 to Rebirth, carter4, no ceilings and ianahb 1&2

:whoa: Don't lump No Ceilings in with those other albums.

Dude been a solo artist since 2003, it's 2016 which it's been a 13 year career so far. Not a 'flash in the pan' by any means like cats say he is. 'Go DJ' was 13 years ago, that's a significant stretch worthy of being labeled a legend, like it or not.

From 2007-2010 this guy was on everything too. Only toned down once Drake took the torch, but even at that point didn't fall off. I'd say his run was as good as any.

That said, I still think dude has earned respect and fandom enough to drop something in 5 years and get people interested again. Wayne is just as established as Jay is.

There are very few Jay's in rap cause the fans turn on you before you can even reach that level. That's why two of the most revered rappers in the game both dude in their primes. Had they lived no telling how the fans would have treated them

Yeah I'm aware of his Cash Money days, but I chose to count it from his overall mainstream/Billboard success and when he really tried to branch out from The Carter I. If you count from before that though, it's been 17 years which makes the case even more in favor.

edit: Dang never mind, his real first album did even more numbers than I thought. So yeah, 17 years.

Wayne fell off around 2012 IMO. Even listening to him now I can't help but think how corny he is. I respect the fact that he passed the proverbial torch to Drake (whether people care to admit it or not) and let him do his thing.

But yeah, he's done. Just needs to take his money and call it quits.

I think that's just how music in general works. You gain steam, blow up, go plat, and gradually decline. That's the nature of the business.

He's not as good as he was from '06 to '09 but he's far from "done" and is not a "forgotten relic in time" like you idiots make him out to be:mjlol:. Every popular rapper in this generation is CLEARLY heavily influenced by Wayne in some fashion. He will be relevant in that sense for at least another ten years. Just because he don't have the juice anymore doesn't mean people forgot who he was. Even though No Ceilings 2 was a dud, the hype for it was as if he were releasing it in 2011. Skillwise, he's still very much able to drop nice shyt when he wants to. Y'all trying to discredit him, name another rapper from the past ten years who did it better than him

I feel you.
I see what you were getting at. Cause many people didn't start fukking with him till around Carter 2.

But also like you said a lota people fukked with him in Cash Money/Hot Boyz era as well and many ppl forget about that.

My cousin had a Wayne poster in his room in 1998 even before "Tha Block is hot" dropped.

Wayne done had one of the longest rap careers ever.

My favorite Wayne era is those Squad Up Tapes though:lawd:
