is it that hip hop at such an all time low that an album like to pimp a butterfly gets hated on?

holup...if hip hop is at an all time low..shouldnt a supposedly "good" album be getting cysed like its great? :jbhmm:...cause with all this shytty music, nikkas would be searching for something to irrationally put on a pedastal

like...if the top 5 nikkas in the nba all died on a banana boat....and now a nikka like Paul George is mvp and considered that nikka

i say all that to say, the album was boring and repetitive :manny:

and as far the overall hate you see on thecoli..you gotta take it with a grain a salt..this is bizarro world sometimes

Album was brilliant, the hate comes from Lupe and Drake stans. The former is composed of internet weirdos and the latter a bunch of lames.
People been too Conditioned to listen to party tracks 24/7 and forgot the introspective side of Hip-hop. Anyone with a sober and focused mind would live TPaB.

I'm not surprised, look at what's popular in rap currently.... TPAB is very different than that. It's a mature album that not for the clubs and turning up.

I can appreciate when a rapper can convey and communicate what's going on in their life at a certain period. You would think after the success of GKMC that Kendrick would be happy as ever but he shows a different, more realistic view of things and appreciate him for going that route rather than trying to create GKMC part 2

Its one of (if not the) the highest rated hip hop albums of all time

The Booth is just full of weirdo KTT tier white boys/c00ns who dont like any rapper that comes off as 'pro black' to them or any rapper that doesn't make music that 'bumps in the whip' or 'in the club' .

Don't even know how you can take this place serious, same place where these cats got former white hoes like biscuitsnbangers tryna tell you about hip hop :laff:

Same place where some will hate on rappers like Kendrick, then they'll complain about rappers like Lil Yachty and how culture vultures like Complex are promoting them to be the new faces of hip hop :hula:

Complain about rappers c00ning and promoting bullshyt but then when Kendrick tries to speak that real, you complain :laff: he performs a song at the grammys and these same weirdos accuse him of being soft and a sellout because he skipped out on saying a specific word in the song :laff:

Kendrick coulda taken the easy way out and just done a GKMC 2 .. nobody expected an album like TPAB and it still did great numbers.

Yeah you don't have to like the album but a lot of the guys who say it around here seem to have a weird agenda, constantly having to remind people:ninja2: certain folks constantly trying to shyt on Kendrick :ninja2:

Thats not true. Hiphop heads who hate Kendrick usually hate Drake too. They also hate J-cole, Big Sean, Wale, Steph Curry, KD, Harden...etc. they are the type of people of who complain about how "good hiphop/sport/movies/books/girls/food/humanity was back in the 90s" EVERY DAY. These are the people who hate Kendrick.

It's not organic though. It's not real.

Kendrick is just as big a fukking huckster as these other guys, if not bigger.

He's simply running the long con on these goofball hip-hop heads that think making boring jazz-infused sleepytime music is tantamount to being some kind of rebel. He quotes some old poems and puts old pro-black photographs on his cover and all of a sudden he's standing up for something. No, he's a wannabe Nas to Drake's Jay-Z, trying to be the people's champ and it's working on dummies.

There are a lot of weirdos/agents on this site. The same people shytting on this album are the same ones praising wack artists like Young Thug, or Lil Yachty, etc. When you look at it, there's no other answer. I could understand not liking that particular album, but with the amount of trash that gets praised here, it just shows you that this place is either filled with c00ns, or whites pretending to be black. I swear, when I look at the thread titles on here sometimes its a combination of :scust::lolbron: & :what:. Day by day, I swear some people on here are :mjpls:

Or maybe he actually feels certain issues need to be addressed/talked about by Hip Hop artists and people actually like the music? You hating too hard, n!gga.

This is 100% false. I know it's easier to paint old heads with broad strokes of "they hate everything" but there is no correlation between hating Drake, K Dot, Cole, Curry etc.

The 90's are the best era because it was the only time in history hip-hop was the main driving force in pop culture. We don't even got to get into the actual music, that's open to opinion. I'm saying if you're a fan of rap music, 90's was the era in terms of mainstream saturation and influence.

Then again most of this board isn't rap fans, they just stan a couple people. So an era where hip-hop was the driving force in pop culture would be of no interest to them.:yeshrug:

Loved the album and I'm a Drake fan, y'all just love to put your projection of what y'all think all drake fans supposed to like. Wesley's Theory was my favorite intro of the year last year.

:heh:How Kendrick stans of all people gonna call nikkas weirdos tho? :deadrose:

:lolbron: I'm probably hating a little bit, but Lupe's fans always came off to me just a little bit more respectable than the Def Jux fans who truly were a bunch of weirdos but that ain't saying much. Not all of them, you know I can't generalize all of them, but enough of them need to wear that hat anyway. I swear some fans of certain artists come off like they really don't appreciate the music and verbiage as much as they just want to look intelligent and be different.
