So why exactly was Eric B punking Large Pro? Wasn't Large Pro just about the same age as Nas at the time? A teenager?
False producers are telling lies, why? (They're rolling snake eyes!)
Working at Newark City Hall.Where is Eric b at now?

Can't extort your brother...they were friends/brothers...it was all love split the pot shytI have no doubt that he was the actual DJ when it came to performing, but it seems like dude has very little, or nothing at all to do with the beats that were made on the albums. When you think about it logically, it wouldn't make sense for someone to align them self with a guy that offered absolutely nothing to them so I think Eric B did offer some type of benefits to Rakim whether that was fronting money, connections, studio time, muscle, or booking.
If he was straight up extorting him why would he even bother giving Rakim any credit for the beats? They would have to split the money on that instead of it all going to his pocket. So i believe he would have strong armed that too. I just don't think he should get any credit at all for anything they did musically from what I've been seeing here.
From my knowledge Thats actually only half true. According to Lp, Tip did not start actually get into the technical part of producing, till he began making beats for Nas like one love. Im thinking thats right before Electric Relax. Like Puff who he inspired, and many of his comptemporaries he was a record junky. If you watch their Doc, he shows you his knowledge of sampling earlier on was as vast as using a tape deck to make loops into beats. This a part of music history that seems to be completely foreign to todays audience. The production side back then was always 3 fold, artist, artist/dj, and then engineer. Most of the engineers early on were white guys, and Dj/Artists would submit records for samples and give their vision. Great engineers were the key to success before artists/djs started learning the machines themselves. Gods like Paul C could make visions into life.that's nothing.. until that tribe documentary came out.. nikkas still didn't believe me when I told them Q-Tip produced most of tribes music. They thought it was all ali shaheed muhammed.
suge got punked out by lighty??
nah.......basically Suge was on Lyor's ass cause during negotiations over Warren's involvement with the ABOVE THE RIM soundtrack....he DIDN'T WANNA DEAL WITH THE "JEW BOY" ..he wanted either Russell or Kevin Liles.....when in reality Warren G. just decided to take a good offer from Def Jam and Suge was upset that Warren was fukking with this jewish cat from the east coast...
Suge seen him (lyor) at a west coast event and felt he was gonna "fukk him up on site"...but Chris Lighty stepped in and help "escort" a TERRIFIED lyor cohen from the venue...
Chris did it diplomatically without any muscle , because him and Suge had a relationship based on Suge doing alot of security work and promotions for Rush Management based acts that Chris Lighty was involved with while working for Russell back in the day out in the west coast
Violaters were never a "shakedown team" they just simply were the cats that Lighty's mentor DJ Red Alert used as a crew to provide street promotions and security at parties up in the bronx during the golden age of hip hop...Lighty just took the name VIOLATORS and incorporated into the infamous management /imprint that it is known for today..STRICTLY BUSINESS
