I wouldn't say I'm anti social, but for the most part I'm to myself unless it's a kickback, party or bar etc. I just wanna get my work done and dip out. Plus it's only one black coworker there and we complete opposites(I will not elaborate on that). Plus last week a coworker of mine who found a new job invited the team to a bowling alley with a bar, I didn't go but everyone else wanted me to go to welcome me since I'm still new.

Are any of y'all like this ?

Thoughts ?

I'm the same. I usually clock-in, go to my cubicle, clock out for lunch and finally clock out to leave, 2 hours later, once I come back from lunch. All while trying to avoid eye contact that could potentially lead to conversation.

It depends on your career.

If you're a lawyer and you had this attitude I would call you an idiot.:yeshrug:

But for most careers, I cant blame you for not wanting to spend a second with them outside of the office:ehh:

Be careful about this. If you got kids make sure it's known otherwise if you skip out on parties they could look to sabotage you (especially in Retail jobs). Corporate jobs it could be a challenge too with CACs.

If you got kids they be like aiight but if you don't they will be like "Why does this dude think he's above us" and some BS like that. Especially CACs.

Probably lost my last job partly due to that. Commute was long and had to be in early every day on time they were being clock watchers. So I declined the events for the most part because then they would try and make me stay out late and drink then expected to come in 9am sharp the next day all chirpy and shyt.

I can handle my liquor the night of but I'm too old to be doing that shyt. Too hard to wake up in the morning after all that drinking. Plus I need to watch my health my BP has been too high lately so I have to lay off caffeine and alcohol.

A lot of this can be solved also by finding work places that aren't as young if you are over 30.
