Many berbers are indeed some part black as per genetic studies, and on average most North Africans are part or mostly Berber, with the rest being Arab. Its a culture thing.. If you grow up in diverse highly metropolitan areas(Like french, and Fat Joe did in the bronx), everyone says the word 'nikka'..

This is news to me. This has not been my experience. I grew up around poor white folk and poor Mexican folk. The white dudes no matter how down they were, no matter if they were the coolest dude you could ever meet, ever came out of their mouth calling a friend nikka. At least not around me and I'm not even the type to jump off until a certain limit is reached.

I know of Mexicans who would say it to each other but that was just me overhearing them and they did it in that quiet, awkward hushed way.

Perhaps I just don't know the ethnicity of all the people I meet which is annoying on another level and have been giving people "passes" for saying it without even knowing.

That did seem like a bit of a contradiction on my part. No Mexican has ever called me or anyone I know nikka for me to witness. He would not call me his nikka and if he were to think he was comfortable enough to say it he would be checked. It's not a phenomenon to me, it's just something that I've never been around because it always seemed to be understood. At least the places where I grew up.

Most people, I guess, don't care or only care online or don't want to lose friends over some shyt like that. I'm guessing that's them.
