I can't help it, I'm a good ass worker, good customer service, speedy, considerate, etc. But I always seem to run into hurdles that I have to jump.

Working in the bag well yesterday (where luggage is collected and brought out to flights so that they can be loaded into planes) I had 3 carts, 2 for one flight and 1 for another. 35 minutes prior to your flight leaving is when I'm supposed to come thru with the luggage, which I did.

I show up to the first flight, (somebody is always working a flight, we have one person who loads the bags and others take care of other aspects of the flight, like calling for boarding and collecting other stuff, plus giving paperwork to the captain) and nobody is there, a plane is coming in, and so I see a few people in that zone rushing over to inbound it, understandable.

After a few minutes of waiting, I just said forget it :shaq2: And dipped.

When I dipped, I went to the other plane that also needed their bags and the person working the flight was at least there, so I started helping her, by giving her the bags for her flight.

All of the sudden my TC shows up and says "spot __ needs their bags so I'm gonna come get them from you"

Which means that, that spot called my zone (the bag well) and I guess gave a light hearted complaint because their bags weren't there, because usually we just show up 35 minutes prior without any communication whatsoever.

So I told my TC "nobody was there so I just dipped:ld:"

He goes to walk away and then turns around and asks "how long ago was this"

I responded with "just a second ago:manny:"

By second I was using the black definition, not a long time but not a short time. The truth is I had been away from them for at least 5 minutes and they complained for me to bring their bags, but weren't there 35 minutes prior, so why would I waste my time waiting for them to show up when I could help another?:mindblown:

I enjoy my job and coworkers, but sometimes I think they've got me fukked up because I'm nice.

Sound like you did your job to me breh. Dont stress the small stuff. You left the luggage at zone 1, while you dipped to the 2nd zone. So they can tell you was there before, cuz the luggage cart is there and you aint.

You aint gonna load up zone 2 in 5 mins so (so they should expect to wait I guess) .... that's on them. Unless they want you standing at zone 1... then zone 2 calling cuz zone 1 backed up. Hopefully your TC just loaded up zone 1.

It's work tho... we all have minor issues

The thing about work is that sometimes you gotta get political...wait, that's not the word.
Um...tactful?
Basically you gotta frame what you did in a way that shows your intentions were to be proactive and helpful...not to neglect the other Spot that needed their luggage.

:leostare: It's time like this where you complain softy, to save your own ass. :damn: "Hurry up with this shyt, I have a job to do." basically you want to make yourself look 150% and the others incompetent. Because eventually if you don't push, your going to get stomped on because someone will be held responsible for a screw up.

You were right with telling the truth. Being black, you will always have to jump hurdles at work; it does not matter. Nothing is going to come easy. I can tell you from experience, I had to work harder, faster, more efficient and take less breaks; than my white co-worker. Because I'm black. People tried to look for my mistakes left and right, because I'm black. The white boy fukked up left and right; they did not say shyt. Because he's white (jew). That's something you will have to understand.

Also; other raciest are not use to seeing a well mannered, nice, hardworking, considerate, brother; who enjoys his job. There use to stereotypical brothers. Keep up the good work :salute:

You must have worked for an airline before.

But naw, I didn't leave the luggage there at the other zone :snoop: I dipped, I figured that if I left the cart just sitting there it would have been tacky, and also if they didn't have 1 person at the plane then how could I expect them to have another to load up the luggage. On top of that it was 1 cart while the other had 2 carts so I figured they could get that shyt knocked out quickly while the other plane couldn't bc they had 2 carts.

Am I using too much logic here? I think I'm really calculated and quite punctual whereas other people aren't.

And my TC and supervisor came to get the luggage, from me while I always loading the other plane.

I mean we're even told the outbounds are more important than the inbounds ffs.

Maaaaaan, you don't understand! I have people trying to talk shyt to me everyday, and even though I'm knew I still have to say slick stuff to put them in check.

One dude that has been working here for almost a decade tried to get into my business when I was talking to my tc and I had to tell them that I wasn't talking to him. Dude kept on trying to pick on me and I finally said something.

Yesterday I had a water bottle and I was drinking it and he comes up to me like "I can smack that out of your hand", I laughed and he follows up with "you don't think I won't?" So I respond with "I don't know, I haven't thought about it yet:manny:" and walked away.

Also, my coworkers know that I'm a reader, independent (I travel to places alone, I went to Vancouver, BC, a few days ago) and that I speak different languages and shyt, so I feel like some are always intimidated by me. On top of me being tall skinny black and decent looking.

Thank you, I'm just trying to solve this stuff.

I forgot to mention this happened when I was about to be off in 15 minutes too, I ain't Finna clock out all late

Sometimes I dikk around for hours at work and I can act like I was doing my job AND someone else's. I hate my job and my Director is a bytch so i do it as often as possible. Its 3:10 right now and I started at 8:30. I've stretched about an hour worth of work into 7hrs. I'm gonna knock some of this work out until around 4, disappear for 30m, come back like I was really doing something and say "Man ya'll aint did shyt today, I'm done for next 30m." :mjlol:

:snoop:There's too many brothers and sisters that use house negro freely and do not know what a house negro means

Educate yourself brother.....because I work hard at does not mean I love the master. That's not my company, that's their company. I'm making a living for my family and to pull other black into my field. So, I can help them and educate them. I hate being the only brother in this field
