it's between Kidd or Stockton for the 4th slot.

Magic, Oscar & Zeek have the top 3 locked even though I never saw the Big O.

the 5th slot is interesting. I think it goes to an active player.

see this is where you cats take shyt too far. Averaging around 15 ppg for a PG is not a "liability", especially when you're responsible for making career seasons for the likes of Richard Jefferson, Kerry Kittles, Kenyon Martin, etc.

Im talking As a first option(which is why i said offensive anchor)Kidd would make a great number 3. Plus those nets teams were always mediocre to crap offensively.

Kidd simply doesn't compare to alot of PG's offensively particulary as scorers

i think he getting a little overhyped due to him retiring

my top 5

magic
isaiah
oscar
gary payton

then kidd for me

if iverson is considered a pg, then i got him above kidd and payton.

GP was never really a PG like the rest of the guys in the top 5.

He was somewhat of a combo guard...Picture a less explosive Westbrook.

His best years('99-'02) came during the Westphal era in Seattle. They played that run & gun style and Payton had the best spurt of his career.Ironically, the Sonics sucked ass during that strecth.GP was never one to make his team mates elevate their game.Stats really don't tell the whole story.Looking at stats, you'd think Marbury made his teammates better, to:mjpls:

Payton was more of a scoring pg....had a ugly ass, knuckle ball J, and a decent post game because of his size. His offense was ugly, but effective.

He averaged 16 points and 6.7 APG for his career.Iverson, who's always getting ragged on for being a ball hog, averaged 6.2 APG for his career.

I'd definitely take Kidd over Payton.Kidd carried a bunch of scrubs to the NBA finals. Not only scrubs, but a franchise that had a culture of losing and was unaccustomed to success. He lifted that whole franchise up.

What did Payton do? what is he remembered for besides a cool nickname? Where's his all time NBA great moments/ defining moments? When Payton had the Sonics all to himself, they were mediocre as shyt.

Kevin Johnson was definitely better.....And I'm contemplating taking Tim Hardaway over him, to:yeshrug:

but that's not his main job. Magic is the greatest PG of all time and his career ppg doesn't even break 20.

You gassed up off GP, he was never really that nice.

Go ahead...break it down....tell me where I'm wrong?

Why do you think GP is better than Kidd and Kevin Johnson?

I watched GP his whole career....Cool nickname....swag....but I'm telling you, Kidd and KJ were better. He's nowhere in the discussion for top 5 pg of all time.

As far a true PG skills..."court vision..passing..making shyt easier for his teammates" he's middle of the pack.He was never a big game/ clutch player, neither:manny:

I know...I:ufdup:.....nikkaz love them some GP....I understand that. He's one of the realest cats to lace em up in the NBA......As far as talent, I think he's overrated out there. But that's just my opinion

GP one of the best two-way guards in NBA history. nikkas talking about Kevin Johnson like Payton didn't lock him up in the 93 WCF. Let's also not forget he was the leader of a perennial title contender with the 90's Sonics.

GP was a problem on both ends he could score and lock down the other team's best scorer. Only point guard to ever win DPOY and he's overrated? fukk outta here

I swear I never seen another situation where a players actions as a GM and coach so graetly affected how people saw him as a player.

Isiah's legacy just hasn't been the same since his dealings with the Knicks.....
