I stopped watching for a bit and was surprised to see Bradshaw as champ and looking completely unrecognizable

Probably, yeah.

I would say Kane is a contender considering the mystery around him, but it wasn't 'out of nowhere' since he was hyped before the HIAC.



First feud was with Taker, transitional champ, and he stayed around the main event for a while, before dropping down to mid card and going back up.

Dude ruined SD for me. I completely checked out on that show when he was the champ. :heh:
The problem with JBL was that while he was a good heel I feel like it was drawn out too much. Little kid me was not going to watch him ride up all slow in the limo, wait for valet, take his time walking gingerly to the ring, and cut some boring promo for 10 minutes. I sat through that once or twice then bushed him permanently
