I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
That's the thing though, Jay-Z's first album only sold 26k and obviously was thought of as wack for the time being until later on.

Someone is rewriting/remembering history different because I can't remember anyone shytting on Reasonable Doubt when it came out. It was a strong, well received debut in 1996 and has aged like fine wine. And sales don't mean shyt. Illmatic did not go platinum until 2001 and that album is the definition of a classic. I can't say the same for THFM or any G-Unit album with the exception of GRODT.

:whoo:

And the word classic does get thrown around to much. I've seen people give Wayne's Carters 1-3 classic status, Young Buck's SOC classic status, and any Eminem album a classic status on here. Well, MMLP is debatable. I'm not saying that none of those albums or Bank's debut are good, they're not classic.

I might be alone but I prefer rotten atten apple over this.

I made the Dale face in your avatar when I read that.

Funny too because I'm probably one of the only people that thought Rotten Apple got unfairly hated on. Plus I had some friends that did some beats on there. I thought it was dope, but I still have to roll with HFM.

I played this a lot when it came out, and it's still good now, but no it's not a classic. It's just a hot album I played a lot that summer, like Cashville and Kiss of Death. Not every good album is a classic.

I consider Straight Outta Cashville a personal classic. Not this tho, even at the time I found the production weak

Dude Buck went crazy on that album it was damn near perfect

BLACK GLOVES AND THOU SHALL Are two of the hardest songs ever created by a rapper

It's a decent album but I wouldn't call it a classic. That's a strong word

Banks improved a lot after this
