I feel like all of the cool X-Men storylines have been done (poorly) by Fox.

What's left for the X-Men?

This is a good point…

They botched the Dark Phoenix Saga twice (that storyline really needed to be built up across several movies).

They ruined Apocalypse. They either should have followed the Fall of the Mutants storyline or made a two-movie adaptation of AoA.

X2 is overrated IMO. It was cool for its time, but watching it today you can really see the faults. The first few minutes with Nightcrawler are goated, then everything goes back to being the Hugh Jackman show after that. The comic X2 is based on (God Loves Man Kills) is a must-read though.

Days of Future Past was better, but still not as good as the comic or cartoon versions. The movies gave Wolverine all the shine and threw the rest of the characters in the bushes. I’ll give the Quicksilver scene it’s props though.

IMO they should start with the Original 5 as teenagers or with Giant Sized X-men #1.

It would be interesting to see them eventually cover the Brood Saga, Genosha, the Morlock Massacre, Inferno, and Fatal Attractions at some point.

Genosha would be crazy but you know, politics

Yeah, that’s a pretty valid concern considering this is Disney we’re talking about.

The OG comics dealt with topics like…

• Integration vs Separation (Professor X vs Magneto)

• Religious intolerance (God Loves Man Kills)

• Religion as a positive force (Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde)

• The Cold War (Colossus)

• Eugenics (Mr. Sinister)

• Social Darwinism (Apocalypse)

• Genocide (Sentinels, Days of Future Past)

• Apartheid (Genosha)

• The Holocaust (Magneto’s backstory)

• Mass killing sprees (The Mutant Massacre)

X-men is not this happy go lucky series. (Barring a couple of characters like Iceman and Nightcrawler, and even they’re only using humor to cope).
You can’t have Magneto and all these other characters out here cracking jokes like they’re the Guardians of the Galaxy.

I feel like hulk is really underutilized, he at the very least should be about as popular as spider man

And ironically I think what hurts marvel is they don’t have batman level movies, the closest was the blade but they act like they don’t want to fukk with Wesley snipes no moe

The question is what characters would be suitable for a batman level movie, they goofyied all the avenger characters, I can’t imagine Thor or hulk in a darker tone movie

I think Disney's iteration of X-Men should start of with Mr. Sinister. He could be the Loki to Thanos's Apocalypse.

Either Daredevil or Moon knight if they get promoted to the big screen

I'd say daredevil would be the better choice. Moon knight is distinct from batman, but the average movie goer is more likely gonna write him off as a knock-off of batman with deadpool's mental illness thrown in

Daredevil is already recognizable and has plenty of stories that can still be adapted

Get the same writers from the show and just let them do their their with a bigger budget and on a bigger scale

I would really like to see a well done punisher, but is Disney going to release a wild movie like that

Me too, but I dont see disney making one either unfortunately :francis:

Not without being heavily compromised

Either we get a toned down version that's made to be overly sympathetic or we get a dumbed down version that's just exploitative, senseless violence without any of the substance found in the comics

What I meant by a batman movie is just something in a different tone not necessarily exactly like batman

Like I’m sure there is marvel characters that will fit the darker tone like hulk, sentry, ghost rider, venom

Shoulda dropped Endgame and went back to the lab for a new Marvel Cinematic Universe soft reboot of old and new titles. We overdue on a Daredevil movie.

Oh yeah, that too

I'd like to see ghost rider get another shot in particular

Whether it's johnny blaze or robbie reyes in the titular role

Hulk would be nice to see in a solo movie again, but until they can get the rights with universal sorted out we'll just have to keep dreaming :francis:

And I think a good idea would be to introduce Norman Osborn as kinda like the anti Tony stark. Set him up to be both a hero and villain. They could tell some pretty good stories if they use stiff like dark reign and the iron patriot for inspiration. They come up with a really good set of dark, psychological thrillers. Having him progressively lose more of his sanity and ability to swap between his personas. Until all there's left is the goblin. AKA the most diabolical characters in the marvel universe :whoo::wow:

They said they plan to do the dark avengers, so I'm hoping they don't mess things up. Green goblin and Norman Osborn have a lot of potential in the mcu. Yall see how Defoe came back twenty years later to show why he's the goat :wow:

We just need someone else in the role that can provide the same range

So they can put hulk in movies but they can’t make stand-alones with him?

Nope, it's why we got planet hulk's storyline adapted into thor ragnorok

Can't remember all the details, but it's somewhat similar to the situation with spiderman but worse

Universal seems to be less willing to make a deal. Not sure why exactly, but marvel hasnt been able to negotiate anything for years. Also Namor can't have a solo film either because universal owns his film rights too
