was on Georgia Ave this past weekend and saw that the Eddie Leonard there was still going strong :wow:

literally everything else around it has changed the past 2 decades tho :francis:

I live about a 2 blocks from the The Ave on Upshur. Honestly everything between Upshur and Eastern Ave, pretty much the same, give and take a few places.

I been gone for a minute

all the new shyt threw me off :yeshrug:

Yeah once you get past Upshur going towards Howard and Chinatown, yeah shiit changed, somewhat. Although most off the liquor stores, hood restaurants, corner stores are still there.

The opposite direction towards to Silver Spring, once you get past Upshur. It's still the same, Carryouts, liquor stores, Caribbean restaurants, Spanish Restaurants, Barber shops, and hair salons, Ethiopian, African, and Spanish corner stores, Dollar Stores, couple of wing joints, Dominican Barbershop and Hair Salons.

Yeah that area right around the station and Safeway. Yeah that's a whole new world.

Yeah HoodzandNewz posted it yesterday

Woooooooow :dwillhuh:

I never would’ve thought Crystals would be going away....

Crystals is to us what Cascade is to ATL, that place is a DMV treasure and hood classic smdh

Edit: My mom said this won’t be the first time Crystals have shut down since they reopened at least three times over the years :ohhh: So maybe Crystals will come back again in the future.....Hopefully :sadcam:

This. Uptown still got some flavor left thankfully.

I don't think it's arrogance, and it really depends on where you live how much MD stuff you see... even in Baltimore city, you get out to Roland Park/ Guilford area, you're going to get a lot of 'MD' pride and that extends out to the suburbs. Even in PG, you're going to get a lot of 'MD Pride' especially around UMD but in general, in MoCo and HoCo and most definitely Annapolis, you're going to see a LOT of 'MD' pride stuff. You don't see as much in PG because a lot of the families are newer except around the Greenbelt area....the MD pride stuff is more popular with 'affluent' Marylanders...a lot of the private school kids are big on it, even the ones that go to school in DC like at Gonzaga. You'd see them with 'MD' keychains and stuff. DeMatha and those type schools in PG are also big on MD stuff too.

My little sister sent me a "MD Care Package" once, was filled with like Old-Bay chips and Berger cookies...and some bottles of old-bay and McCormick stuff...she said she did it cause she saw one of her white friends on insta get one and thought it was funny...

Bay Area breh but lived in Maryland for hella years. People who make good money in the DC suburbs are cocky as fukk.:unimpressed: I'm talking about the mayo slathered ones born and raised in the suburbs. They think they are better than everyone because of where they went to college and what non-sexy government job that allows them to drive a Tesla and pretend they are rich as Jeff Bezos. They think they flex harder than anyone on the planet. They were wearing basic ass clothes and had no swag a few years ago and now they are super sayin level hypebeasts because they downloaded their style from the net.

But the catch is that these cocky upper middle class folks in Montgomery and PG County think they are DC folks and barely identify as Marylanders if at all. They will say "I'm from DC" when they've never lived in DC limits their entire lives. :what:PG County a little different because many folks from the old DC moved to PG after they got good jobs and moved on up to the eastside (of the beltway) to a deluxe apartment not far from dipper smoke in the sky. DC/PG folks come off as snobby calling everybody a bama. But hella DC/PG brehs cool if you manage to hack the matrix and find yourself in their social circle. DC/PG brehs act like that because they don't like outsiders. It's understandable because DC is one of the top three most gentrified cities in America, if not the most gentrified. Give outsiders an inch and they take a mile. DC brehs have experienced this worse than most.

Baltimore folks is the coolest black folk of any of the East Coast city in my opinion. Baltimore people know how to have basic conversations. Baltimore people also have manners, which is rare in DC or NYC.

If anything NYers are by the far the cockiest. NYers look down on everyone... Yet refuse to admit their culture has been blatantly inspired by other places. NYers call everyone country... Yet bang Cali and Chicago gangs and copy the rap style of down south and even London rappers. NYers under 40 years old want credit for creating a form of music... 50 years ago. :mjlol: And just me typing this will generate so much NY butthurtt. :unimpressed:

I see what you saying but honestly most these transplants that come here are lames its not like we even get the cool ones that NY, ATL LA even Texas get... they come here with there trash ass entitled mindsets and get mad when the locals call them out on there bs...I get they come here to level up and respect it but damn step yr game up bring something unique to the table instead they want to critical of everything..

I will say its mostly the recent ones cause there are ones I personally know and ran into who been here for years, they have actually took the time know the people and understand the local culture and not just stick to there little circles...Thats one of the reasons the social/nightlife the city was known for has fell off so much and become so vanilla....everything has become so corporate and that has a lot to do with the fed gov but these lame ass transplants don't help..

was on Georgia Ave this past weekend and saw that the Eddie Leonard there was still going strong :wow:

literally everything else around it has changed the past 2 decades tho :francis:

Honestly GA ave doesn't look to different...its still has the gritty vibe to it and more than a few classic spots like The House is still up and kicking which is impressive....But I miss going to the wizards game hittin up Clydes and heading uptown to the bar/lounges on 7th street for the late nite tip.....and no matter how much they switch it still got that hood ass vibe to it:russ:

The carryout by High Point easily smashes any Carryout, I'll put anything on it.

what is this 2006 nikkas still debatin over the best carryout:pachaha:
