Is Mega Man a dead franchise at this point?

They could get creative and make something 3d with fast pace gameplay, similar to returnal.

It feels like alot of those classic series experimented with 3d when 3d gameplay was still new and gave up after one poor attempt.

It reminds me of how people assume 3d castlevania games would never work, but then From Software comes along with something like bloodborne that perfectly captures the essence of castlevania in 3d.

I worry that Mega Man 11 didn't do what it needed to do

It was solid and the fans came out, but I don't think it was a sales success...

I thought we would've had more games by now

Boomer games.

No one cares about these types of games anymore. Mega Man games have barely evolved since the 80’s

It could use a facelift but I think the IP still has potential :yeshrug:

The IP does, for sure. Not if they keep putting out low effort, challenging and slow moving side scrolling platformers.

Mega Man needs to either go back to the Battle Network formula or something closer to Legends/R&C for AAA.

There's so much more they could have done with the franchise. All they had to do was follow the Metroid Prime formula and build off of the Battle Network series.

In their latest integrated report, Capcom says they intend to revitalize Act Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man with new releases, remakes, and ports.

  • Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware. By enhancing brand power and cultivating loyal fan bases, we will grow these into core IPs.

A new main line title or legends will sell like dogshyt. The only path forward is Battle Network :youngsabo:

Ace Attorney has been cleaned up as much as it can be on modern platforms.

If they stretch out remakes :dead:
