People have a tendency to call everybody's first album classic.
2pacalypse now is another one.
People have a tendency to call everybody's first album classic.
Tical is no classic lmao
Black album = the blackout ???
I thought meth and red were even
I was thinking about this
Pros
1) He's the most popular member of the most popular/arguably best rap group ever
2) He does have classic songs
3) One of the best flows/deliveries ever, possibly the best
Cons
1) No classic albums
2) Sharp decline in skills for a period before he gained it back
3) Outshined by Redman all through the Black Album
4) Multiple members within his group made better albums than him
method man >>>>>>>>>> redman
but i cant thing of an occasion where reggie didnt outshine him on a track not just the blackout album
method man >>>>>>>>>> redman
They were more popular for one album cycle: E. 1999. They were not more popular before that. And they were not more popular after that. They had no lasting cultural impact either. Wu-Tang Forever and The Art Of War both dropped in 1997 and Wu sold more.
Wu also had a multitude of platinum and gold solo albums. That is definitely a reflection of the clout the Wu name carried for a decade plus. Compare that to Bone's solo albums which aside from Krayzie and Bizzie's first albums all went double tinfoil.

no way.
not even close.
i thought we were comparing groups? i never said wutang wasnt the better crew.
the rest of this post is extremely un-informed & close-minded. bone's cultural impact has already lasted longer than wutang's too. turn on your radio.
and judging by your sales logic, bone was bigger before e.99 since creepin sold way more than 36 chambers. and they got plaques in recent years as well, and could still go gold on a major. cant say any of that for wutang.
im not even sure if forever outsolde AOW, but if so, then it barely did. and thats not good, seeing that wutang had alot more promotion.![]()
Not even close. Redman was one of the most if not most consistent rapper of the 90s
so was meth imo point meth would rap circles around redman imo
As pointed out Tical is a classic album off of the strength of it being rza 1st round of prod and also meth coming so raw..............
but real talk the bolded has always perplexed me............meth on paper is a better rapper than red but i cant thing of an occasion where reggie didnt outshine him on a track not just the blackout album
They were so different in terms of style that they worked well together but Redman was much more consistent with his albums. From 92-98 he was more consistent than almost everybody
