Comply with the tribe’s marriage customs so that the kids you have from that union will be protected by the ancestors from the mother’s side too, with your union ratified before the creator. The family will deep down not accept his marriage. He should find a way of negotiating to reach an amicable result between both families and 5 racks seems reasonable.
