Actually they have quarantined the pro Trump racists piece of shyts ?(we don't quaratine)..they made them post in thier own little circle and they rarely venture out into the normal political section (you will find lots of trump haters in r/political, almost every article they post there opposed trump in every fukking way imaginable. And the political analysis there is excellent.) Oh and by the way, there is a way to debate shyt without ingaging in racial slurs and name calling. We are higher learning, we should hold ourselves to better standards.

I find his political opinions almost uniformly loathsome, but the Russia thread is where I get my news and I must say he's done a pretty good job with it. Although as other posters have mentioned lately people have beaten him to the major breaking nyt/wapo stories

I always assumed Reddit's political section was a cesspool based on the cringeworthy slang a lot of posters have brought from there (cuck, snowflake, etc.) but i'll take your word for it.
As far as holding HL to a higher standard, that sounds great but as long as the current political climate is a shyt show it's unrealistic to think this place won't reflect that to some degree, unless you expect the mods to be on their extra authoritarian shyt which is counter productive to what this place is supposed to be about. I personally think there's room for intelligent discussion as well as a healthy balance of fukkery but that's just my opinion.

Nah I would say he's someone that's just politically naive. Those are the people that usually cling to whatever happens to be the mainstream narrative of the day. And because these views are repeated/amplified by the media and other "serious" analysts, he thinks he has a higher level and more sophisticated understanding of the world - when in fact he's really just being used.
