I don't have any kind of attitude. I hate our radio stations. So I'm not tryna be cocky. Please fam. Ive heard far worse when I go out of town. Yet nikkas always talkin bout NY when in reality we embrace everybody shyt. And it's been like that forever. Every region has bias. It is what it is. But I just can't picture a song that's on the countdown of one of the most popular tv shows at the time not being played on any radio outside of NY. Nas even went on a radio run promoting Quan at the time cause he was in demand. How u think Quan got on ur fellow Philly brethren Cassidy's second album. The song was poppin fam.
just cuz quan was on a philly rapper's album, it doesn't mean he was buzzin in philly. and it doesn't help that cassidy ended up getting brushed off as a new York nicca after a while.
and I wasn't even talking about buzz anyway. I was just talking about radio play. but yea, for the record, quan wasn't buzzing here. he had a couple nice verses. that about it.
I'm not saying you have a cocky attitude. I'm just saying you have a natural sense of entitlement. and its showing in this thread. the fact that you just assume that nas is getting played everywhere because hes on his local new York station, says it all.
and yes, every region and city has their bias. the east coast is the worse tho. philly included. it is what it is. new York is the worst city of them all tho.
lol lets be honest... outside of hot 97 & power 105 (our NY stations) im pretty sure other regions werent hearing those tracks regularly on the radio if AT ALL... The Don & Daughters are the only tracks you named that even got somewhat consistent play like that on NY radio
but as far as the topic.. nas is def held very highly offline... but this "nas is the undisputed GOAT" type shyt you see on forums 24/7 is usually regulated to just forums for the most part... i hear pac/big/jay as the GOAT offline far more than I hear nas... then when it comes to hood nikkas out here these nikkas will name drop dudes like jada, dmx, styles, wayne etc before even bringing nas up

If you talk to people into hip hop, outside the internet and bring up Nas the reaction (for me) has always been "you listen to Nas too? What's your favorite......" followed by a half hour of hip hop talk.
But that's just me, a hip hop head on and offline.
youre actually helping the OP's argument here.
the guy in your example is surprised to encounter another nas fan and gets giddy over it.
