Is Nas currently the best Emcee in the game in 2021?

Ish is still damaged from ether, so he love disrespecting Nas every chance he get. Ran is expecting super lyrical Nas and that is not what people want to hear in 2021 overall. Nas is still lyrical but in a different way. As far as being off beat there is no noticable time where nas sounds off beat on Kd1 or kd2. He always tightens that up on albums. The way Nas and Hitboy are constructing these albums is setting him apart from the rest. Joe did a good job of holding Nas down in this though.

Dude came in here blatantly lying about what Ran said. Refused to post the clip which is blocked by a paywall so it's not like people can confirm it. Ive been sayin from the beginning that that's not what u and a few other cats said he said in the Joe Budden thread. Basically he trolled. But instead of pointing him out for carrying a thread a few pages and lying. U would rather get at the people who can't even confirm if he's lying or not. shyt. Check the thread where Royce disrespected Big Daddy Kane. Alotta people was pissed about that as well. These nikkas who don't have half the success as these legends who paved the way be talking crazy cause they gassed and then feel a way when they don't get the respect they feel they deserve by the younger generation. They the same shyt. Different toilet.
It seems to me he knows how to get a reaction out of Nas fans. When Nas himself could careless.

This nikka saying Nas ain’t on beat on these albums? Really? That’s not even an opinion. It’s literally technically false. That’s a fukking false statement right there. Crazy shyt is. These nikkas act like they god’s gift to emceeing and I’m telling u no bullshyt as dope as Ransom is I could prolly pen a better verse than him. And I don’t even carry it like that. And I don’t even act like I’m better than him.

Ran back KD 2 just to pay attention to the lyrics

Hes still pretty good.

Like if youre comparing him to It was written I get it, but on tracks like My Bible, Composure, Nas is Good, EPMD 2, The Pressure hes still feels relativley sharp

Like I said, to me in 2021 you gotta at least put him in top 10 just for producing good albums along with top rapping even if not THEEE Best. You wanna say Jay Elec, Cole, Gibbs, Tyler, Drake, Benny, Conway are better cool but Nas in there too somewhere
I'd certainly put him ahead of Ransom and Westside Gunn .

I dont put too much stock in what Ransom be saying (also dude is kind of a bozo for some of the stuff he did when beefing with Joe years back). If he saying Nas rapping off beat on KD 1 and 2 hes bugging, Hit got him in a pocket unlike Nasir.

I only see them PSAHip Hop dudes hype him on twitter and their youtube, there some people that flat out wont give Hit Boy a chance cause they think of him as the pop trap guy, ignoring the stuff he did on the Chauncey Hollis/Surf club tapes and Burden of Proof and the KD series to show he can make that vintage hip hop sound. They just want him with the actual guys (even though not all are hitting) so you gotta take what some people who are critical of Nas in these latest albums as just being stubborn in their preference and dont wanna see him adjust. Most people are positive on them

My beef with the KD series is def not Nas' rapping, he was spitting on every track.

I just think Nas suits grimy beats better. Hit-Boy made some great beats but they're very clean and polished for Nas' voice.

You actually went back and reviewed Nas lyrical content on KD 2 bc of what Ransom said. Wow! I never seen an artist work be so thoroughly scrutinized like Nas. Does Nas need to be extra sharp on every single song for him to be a top lyricist? Who makes up this criteria or does this just apply to Nasir?

This is new & different. Now the beats are to clean and polished for Nas’ voice.
