The Wii was full of shovelware, but the GameCube was slept on.

Metroid Prime :banderas:
Melee :banderas:
Paper Mario :banderas:
Pikmin 1 and 2 :obama:
Resident Evil 4 :banderas:
Wind Waker :banderas:
Mario Kart Double Dash :banderas:
Soul Calibur 2 (with Link) :banderas:
Luigi's Mansion :obama:
F-Zero GX :banderas:
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle :banderas:
Viewtiful Joe :banderas:
Mario Sunshine :obama:
Tales of Symphonia :banderas:

I know a few of these joints dropped on the PS2 eventually, but it was still nice to see the GameCube get SOMETHING third-party wise.

PS2 actually won over casuals, at the time it was the cheapest DVD player on the market.

So audio/visual/tech nerds or just people that wanted a nice little set up for their TV, got a PS2 out of necessity. That acted as a gateway into gaming.

Fred.

Ayo I Mandela Effected myself because if you asked me the bolded as a true / false question I would have confidently answered "False." :ohhh:

But now that I'm really thinking back, you're totally right. It debuted before the price of a DVD player seemingly plummeted overnight. :ehh:
