I think Big's the GOAT at opening bars even though Prodigy's nice with it. Even P got "inspiration" from one of his opening lines:

P has a lot of dope opening lines, so do Nas, Jay, Cube, Chuck D, LL, etc.

But NOBODY has more classic and iconic opening lines for a verse than B.I.G. It's really not close. Damn near every verse that dude spit, had a classic opening line. He did that sh*t better than everybody.

I give it to the poster who mentioned 'It was all a dream ...' being the greatest opening bar to a rap verse ever. In my opinion on one of hiphops greatest records too.

If we talking mere words that jump and deliver I still think Prodigy is the best at that, Biggies flow and voice takes a lot into consideration too. Biggie flow is still untouchable!
