Nah 40 is one of the pioneers of bay area hip hop.

Hip Hop purists aren't only boom bap, rappity rap rap stans. They appreciate all forms of the art and 40 has worked with underground hip hop artists.

I liked e-40 but hes not no dam bay area pioneer.

Rakim and KRS are legendary on a higher plane as compared to 40. They will always be more important and relevant to the history of hip hop.

40 is currently more relevant to mainstream hip hop and has been for a long time.
